US, Mexico Pledge to Work Together on Migration, Crime

During a meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference, U.S. President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador pledged to work together on Migration, crime, and the opioid epidemic. They agreed to sustain and expand close cooperation in managing migration in the region. Mexico became the top U.S. trading partner this year, exchanging over $860 billion in goods and services in 2020. López Obrador also planned to discuss the case for Cuba and urge Biden to end U.S. sanctions. Biden had previously met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and highlighted economic ties with Pacific nations.
