Winners emerge From First-ever Singapore Brompton World Championship

The well-loved Brompton World Championship (BWC) took place in Singapore for the very first time on the 30th of October, after a two-year  hiatus. BWC Singapore saw participants of 17 nationalities, totalling close to 500 joining in  the community ride and races and is proudly sponsored by Nikon, LIVALL, Voost, Hydro  Flask and 100 Plus. 

BWC kicked off with a Brompton Community Ride with Brompton’s CEO, Will Butler Adams leading riders at The Float @ Marina Bay. Using the same city circuit as the Tour  de France Prudential Singapore Criterium, the route took the smartly-dressed riders past  iconic Singapore landmarks including the Merlion and The Esplanade. 

Following which, competitive riders participated across the BWC Ladies, Gentlemen and  Veterans categories. These participants raced for 16km (3.2km x 5 laps) for a chance to be  on the podium and to win enticing prizes, sponsored by Nikon, LIVALL and Hydro Flask.

At the Brompton Junction pop-up store located at the festival village of the Tour de  France Prudential Singapore Criterium, fringe competitions were also ongoing throughout  the two days. The public competed in The Fastest Fold of a Brompton and the Longest  Track Stand competition, for a chance to win prizes sponsored by LIVALL. The winners of  the fringe competition are

Will Butler-Adams, Chief Executive Officer at Brompton Bicycle said: 

“It was exciting to see all the Brompton owners coming together from different parts of  the world to Singapore and be part of the BWC. Despite the humid weather, we saw a lot  of owners dressing up to take part in the community ride and races. It was quite a sight and it was all about the fun that Brompton brings.”
