Martin Odegaard injury update — availability vs Brentford

Daily Mail broke the news of a concussion suffered by Odegaard on the build-up to the Newcastle game. And the Norwegian further missed games against Sevilla and Burnley.

Although Martin didn’t travel with Norway on international duty, he is expected to make through and be available for Brentford’s next Premier League gameweek.

“I’ve just come from a 45-minute talk with Martin,” Norway manager Solbakken told a press conference.

“He is getting better and better and gradually stepping up.

It has been more or less three weeks without any special training, so it is important to take things step by step. Both he and Arsenal probably hope that he is available for the Brentford match.”

New Premier League calls require a minimum seven days absence in case of concussions, though that should be increased to 12 for some cases. And that aggregates to the Burnley game, which is why he possibly wasn’t part of the squad.

But the skip is back, and that following much needed rest…
