Rajasthan Royals can take pride in the fact that they won the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. They got the better of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2008 final to win the maiden IPL title.
Needless to say, since then, they failed to make it to the final till IPL 2021 season. Ever since winning the title in the inaugural edition, they failed to qualify for the playoffs in the next five seasons.
They made it to the playoffs in the IPL 2013 season by finishing third on the table. Rajasthan Royals failed to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2014 season but somehow made it to the playoffs in IPL 2015 season.
In the next two seasons, they once again failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Rajasthan Royals made it to the playoffs in IPL 2018. In the next three seasons, they failed to do so.
However, they booked their place in the final of the IPL 2022 season but lost to Gujarat Titans in the final encounter. Kumar Sangakkara will continue to ply his trade as the Director of Cricket and head coach of Rajasthan Royals.
Rajasthan Royals will begin their campaign on April 2. Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals will play against Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals unveiled a new jersey for the upcoming season. The jersey is fully focused on the pink colour, which looks pretty dazzling.
The RR franchise took to its official Twitter handle and then shared an unveiling video. It begins with paying a rich tribute to groundsmen.
Meanwhile, RR skipper Sanju Samson went on to thank all of those working behind the scenes to keep their home turf in good shape.
“So, at the Royals, I feel the firsts are always very important and very special, so this season myself and the whole management decided that we’ll give our first jersey of the season to the groundsmen,” captain Sanju Samson said in the jersey unveiling video.
Sanju Samson said he wanted to thank them for all the care they have given to them. “I just wanted to thank them for all the care they have given us,” he added.
