Cricketers perform exceptionally well in their youthful age. They get better and brighter as they gain experience bit by bit. However, at any stretch of the imagination, it is unfair to write off a player’s potential just by looking at their statistics for the first couple of games.

There have been several players in the game of cricket who defied all the odds and touched the peak of their careers. On the other hand, some super-talented players were incredibly good even at a young age. Take, for instance, Yuvraj Singh.

The flamboyant cricketer has been an inspiration to billions of cricket fans across the country. His journey as a cricketer has been well and truly inspiring. The southpaw’s contribution to Indian cricket has never been in doubt.

The experienced campaigner retired from all forms of cricket in 2019 and it was an end of an era. He has adjudged the player of the series in the 2011 ODI World Cup. The former cricketer picked 15 wickets including a 5-wicket haul.

As far as his batting performance is concerned, he essayed as many as 362 runs at an average of 90.50 including 1 hundred and 4 half-centuries to his name. Yuvraj represented Team India in 304 ODIs, 58 T20Is, and 40 Tests.

The 39-year-old managed to score 8,701 runs in ODIs, 1177 runs in T20Is, and 1900 runs in Tests. The former cricketer scored 14 centuries and 52 fifties in the 50-over format, 8 fifties in the shortest format, and 3 centuries, 11 fifties in Tests.

Yuvraj Singh unleashes the storm in RSWS 2021

The left-handed cricketer took the cricket fraternity by storm when he smashed 6 sixes in an over off Stuart Broad’s bowling. This iconic incident took place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa. Yuvraj almost ended Broad’s career by playing a fearless brand of cricket.

He also went on to smash the fastest fifty in T20Is as he achieved the landmark in just 12 balls. While we thought his talent has faded away after his retirement, we were wrong. Vintage Yuvraj Singh proved us wrong by recreating the old magic once again.

The southpaw showcased his mettle when he stepped out to bat for India Legends in the Road Safety World Series 2021. During the match between India Legends and South Africa Legends, Yuvraj Singh provided an absolute visual treat to the spectators.

Yuvraj was at his free-flowing best as he took the attack to Zander de Bruyne with ease. The southpaw hit medium-pacer for 4 sixes in a row at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. That was some brutal hitting by Yuvi!

Yuvi – Man of the Match

The 39-year-old showed the world that he still has a lot of sport left in him. He went on to score 52 off just 22 balls with the help of 2 fours and 6 sixes at a strike-rate of 236.36. His powerful knock steered 204/3 in 20 overs.

India Legends’ bowlers restricted South Africa Legends to 148/7 in 20 overs. Yuvraj Singh who played well with the bat spun the web with the ball as well. He took 2 wickets to his name while Yusuf Pathan claimed 3 wickets. India Legends won the game by 56 runs.
