Customer Spotlight: 2013 Nissan Maxima Gets Exhaust, Suspension Goodies

The Nissan Maxima mid-size sedan is certainly a favorite, especially for those looking to get the perfect balance of everyday drivability and a little more spirited driving. On top of that, the automotive aftermarket houses a virtually endless list of options when it comes to modifying the Maxima, satisfying the owner’s mod bug in every shape and form. That being said, our customer Shane Preslar treated his 2013 Nissan Maxima to a number of goodies to take it to the next level and help set it apart from others on the road. He modified everything from the vehicle’s exterior to customizing the cabin and giving his Maxima improved suspension, power, and sound.

Shane turned to Vivid Racing when it came time to tweak his suspension and exhaust system. For the former, he went with TruHart camber arms and a Stillen Rear Sway Bar. The TruHart camber kit is crucial for maintaining proper vehicle alignment and helps provide the most effective surface contact for tires. It’s adjustable and works well for both street and track use. Original Equipment sway bars are too small for true performance and that’s where Stillen comes in. Stillen’s rear sway bar works hard to reduces body roll and improves cornering for a difference you can feel.

And for the latter, he opted for none other than the beloved Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust System for its power, prestige, and undeniable sound. The Borla exhaust note has become the quintessential soundtrack of high-performance vehicles and delivers a shot of adrenaline each time you step on the gas. In addition to that distinctive sound respected by motoring enthusiasts, the Borla Cat-Back system features patented straight-through and multi-core technology to unleash hidden horsepower, while enhancing exhaust velocity, driving excitement, and overall fuel economy.

Other Mods on this 2013 Nissan Maxima:

In addition to the linked parts listed above, this customer’s ride also features window tint, upgraded headlights and fogs, LED lights throughout, a silver vinyl sun strip, and full chrome delete. On the exterior, the car received color-matched door handles, wrapped mirrors, mudguards, side skirts, a front valance, rear diffuser, rear splitters, roof wing, third brake light, and black chrome grille. Under the hood, this car was treated to a custom air intake with 350Z carbon fiber intake vent. The 19-inch JNC wheels paired with Ohtsu tires are stopped via new performance brakes. The interior trim is wrapped in carbon fiber with sound-proofed floors, doors, trunk, and firewalls. Additional customizations include a heat deflecting intake and exhaust channel, a new throttle controller, and a gel cell battery.
