But having been in the city for myriads of times I can tell you it’s a bustling city (or town, at least)! Tallinn’s main tourist sight is the Old Town which, honestly, is almost comparable to Prague’s Old Town as far as masses of tourists are concerned. Another thing Tallinn is famous for are its spas. In this article, I will show you some of the best spa hotels in Tallinn. Pick yours below!

1. Kalev Spa Hotel & Waterpark

The Kalev hotel is situated at the edge of Tallinn’s Old Town. For the guests it offers access to a 50-meters indoor pool, spa and a beauty center. There’s also a waterpark with slides, hot tub and children’s pool. In addition, welcoming guests are different saunas. The hotel has an in-house restaurant and 24h lounge bar.

What people liked?

The essential spa hotel of Tallinn – Many people liked the spa section. Indeed, all the spas, waterpark and saunas are free for the guests. This is the number one spa hotel in Tallinn if you are unsure about your choice.

Breakfast doesn’t end too soon – The Breakfast continued until 11 o’clock in the morning.

Kreutzwald is one of the better rated spa hotels in Tallinn. Some rooms have their own hot tubs and the hotel has its own library. Sauna and massages are available. A restaurant offering Estonian food is located on the premises. There’s also a lounge bar for alcohol and more.

What people liked?

Breakfast variety – Many were the guests who liked the selection of foods on breakfast.

Quiet – Because of the quiet location, you won’t hear drunken people on the streets and cars honking etc.

Pleasant staff – Most reviewers said the reception staff is pleasant and helpful in this hotel.

What people didn’t like?

Location not in center – It takes 5-10 minutes walk to reach the center, some people did not like that.

The von Stackelberg is situated near Toompea Castle, near the western borders of the Old Town. All of the rooms have air conditioning for summer heat. There is a spa offering beauty services and massage for additional fee; also sauna is available. The hotel has a restaurant in the basement for breakfast and more. Also lounge bar exists.

What people liked?

Clean rooms – There were no trash, dust or anything odd in the rooms. All were clean and nice.

Idyllic views – At least some rooms have beautiful, idyllic views to the inner yard.

Jacuzzi in rooms – Some rooms have their own jacuzzi!

Friendly staff – The von Stackelberg hotel seems to put effort to helpful staff as many guests said they liked the people at reception.

What people didn’t like?

Might be noisy – According to many guests there might be noises coming from surrounding rooms.

4. Swissotel Tallinn

This is a real 5-star hotel! Situated in the heart of Tallinn’s modern center, all of the rooms in Swissotel are air conditioned. It also has a lot of services for relaxation: a spa, indoor swimming pool, gym and many saunas. In addition, there is a rooftop bar & restaurant for drinks and dinner.

What people liked?

Professional staff – The staff in this hotel is professional, friendly and helpful. That is not always the case with Tallinn hotels, mind you!

Breakfast – Almost every hotel gets points for breakfast from guests, also this one.

Rooms have nice views – This is quite a tall building right in the middle of Tallinn, so many rooms have fantastic views around.

What people didn’t like?

Hard beds – Few guests criticized the beds. In their opinion, the beds were too hard, giving them less than ideal sleep.

5. Park Inn

The Park Inn hotel is located on the “other” side of Tallinn, the west side of Old Town. The famous Toompea castle and park are a stone’s throw away. The spa section consists of large swimming pool, sauna and a gym. All hotel premises are covered by free Wireless Internet. Each room has a window from floor to roof.

What people liked?

Free spa – Yeah, you don’t need to pay extra for the spa and sauna, they are already included in the price.

Breakfast – The breakfast had great selection and even some organic foods, so said the guests.

Quiet – The location is off the Old Town and city center so it should be rather quiet – many people liked that about the Park Inn.

What people didn’t like?

Carpeting – The rooms in this hotel have wall-to-wall carpets, they might be dusty.

6. Nordic Hotel Forum

The Nordic Hotel is located on the former Viru Square, in the heart of modern Tallinn. Old Town is very close and shopping center is around the corner. The amenities in this hotel include normal sauna, steam sauna and jacuzzi. There’s also a gym for sports fanatics. The top floor has a bar for thirsty guests.

What people liked?

Free spa – The spa is always included in the price which was a pleasant surprise for guests.

Clean room – A lot of comments were about the cleanliness of the rooms.

Car parking – There’s a garage which keeps your car warm – many guests appreciated this feature.

What people didn’t like?

Staff not friendly – Some of the reviews pointed out that people at reception were not smiling, perhaps even rude. This is not something new in Tallinn or Eastern Europe, though.

7. Radisson Blu Hotel Olümpia

The Radisson hotel is situated in the Central Business district. Its rooms are air conditioned and naturally, free Wireless Internet is provided. Guests can use the spa which is located on the upper floors of this property. Also available are sauna and a fitness center. The hotel has a restaurant in the premises for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

What people liked?

The spa – Many of the guests said the spa, sauna and fitness center were great. It’s located on the 26th floor with views over the city. The complex is also included in the price as far as I know.

Rooms have views – In addition to the spa, also rooms have nice views, at least if you are located high. It’s a tall building, after all.

Breakfast – Almost every people who left a comment said the breakfast was tasty.

What people didn’t like?

Too fluffy pillows – Few guests complained the pillows were too soft. It’s bad for sleep

It’s rather good idea to visit Tallinn spa hotels because the prices are low in Western standards but service often fantastic. It doesn’t really matter which property you choose from the above list as all of them are frequented by tourists, leaving positive comments about the hotels after their stay. If you can not decide, pick Kalev because it’s so popular!
