EVENTS:

New Zealand’s Hottest Home Brewers

Home brewing has significantly increased in popularity over the past few years. If your one of the country’s keen amateur brewers you can now take part in the Black Rock Home Brewing Competition at Beervana. This event invites teams of 2-4 people to test their brewing skills in the New Zealand’s most exciting, eagerly anticipated brewing battle. To qualify, you need to round up your team, brew your remedy in this year’s style which is IPA, come up with a top name and an epic label and send it to the team at Beervana before the 30th July. If your lucky (and clever enough) to advance through to the final your beer will be put to a panel of judges who will determine New Zealand’s Hottest Home Brewers!

Beervana Walking Tours

If you want to develop your craft beer knowledge, join one of the hourly walking tours. Here you will be guided through the maze that is the beer world. You’ll get to pick the brewers brains while drinking a range of selected brews. Aside from the cost of the beers consumed, these tours are free. You can choose a tour focused on overseas beers, different kinds of sours, the wild and wacky experimental brews or if your quite new to beer, then you can focus on the basics – hops, malt, yeast and water.

Pucker Up Bar

“The Think Tank” is new to Beervana this year. This events sees a 20 tap, specialty bar, dedicated to showcase a new style and trend that has developed in 2016: SOURS. We will definitely be headed here to taste and delve into the world of sour beers, and we recommend you do the same! Check out the Beervana website for the full tap line up which will be released shortly.

Oregon Mash Up

The Oregon Mash Up invites Beervana guests to experience Oregon at an interactive bar, showcasing Beervana’s unofficial sister city, Portland. Brewers from Portland and Oregon have been invited to serve up quintessentially Oregonian food and brews.
