8 Kuala Lumpur Hotels with a View of PETRONAS Twin Towers: The Ultimate Guide

Looking for Kuala Lumpur hotels with a view of PETRONAS Twin Towers is not easy.

The official website of hotels and travel booking sites don’t tell you much. In fact, they might confuse you even more.

It is usually not clear whether you can book a room with the view, or if you have to put in a special request for it. If you can put in a request, many of the hotels cannot guarantee if you will have the room for sure.

Let us help you out. In this accommodation guide, we are going to present all the options you have, and help you decide which hotel should you be staying with.

Which Hotel Qualifies for This List?

Since having rooms with a view of the twin towers attracts the attention of travelers, many accommodation providers put up promises that will only disappoint their guests later.

For this guide, we are only including hotels where they provide rooms with a clear and unobstructed view of the twin towers. The methods to book these rooms may vary, but as long as they provide rooms with the view, we will include them in the list below.

You will not find hotels which are in the KLCC area but do not have rooms with a view of the towers. Likewise, you will not find hotels where the view of the twin towers is only limited to their facilities like swimming pool and rooftop bars.

Why Should You Trust Us?

kuaby earns a commission if you make a booking after clicking on any of the links below. The commission helps to keep the site running. However, we base our recommendations on the research we did and reviews left by actual hotel guests, not the commission that we can potentially earn.

For this compilation, we scoured hotel booking websites and the official websites of these hotels for accurate information about their room offerings. In cases where we feel their listings are inaccurate, we reached out to them for clarification. Those that did not respond to our queries do not get featured here.

Apart from the above, we also look at independent reviews published by travel bloggers and influencers. We are aware that a considerable amount of these reviews do not disclose the benefits they receive from hotels. Thus, we are only using these sources to supplement our findings from hotel booking websites.

I am also a Malaysian who has been staying in Kuala Lumpur for almost 10 years. For this guide, I was able to tell whether it is possible for a hotel to have an unobstructed view of the twin towers just by looking at its location. This allowed me to exclude hundreds of hotels, guesthouses, and hostels from my consideration.

Hotel Categories

To help you pick your accommodation of choice, we divided the hotels into two broad categories:

  • Luxury rooms and suites
  • Mid-range rooms

Luxury Rooms and Suites

The KLCC area is well-known for its hefty real estate prices. Combine that fact with a view of the twin towers, travelers must prepare to pay a high premium.

When you are paying more than RM500 per night for a room in Kuala Lumpur, nobody can fault you for having high expectations for your stay. This means the hotels falling under this category must at least fulfill these criteria:

  • Convenient location.
  • Clean and spacious rooms with a comfortable bed.
  • Friendly and helpful staffs.
  • Top notch amenities and facilities.
  • Provides delicious breakfast.

And of course, the rooms must give you an excellent view of what you are staying in these rooms for – the Petronas Twin Towers.

Best Pick for Luxury: Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

In this category, the Twin Towers View Rooms at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) top our list. The hotel fulfilled almost all the criteria above at a price lower than the rest.

From Mandarin Oriental (Booking.com / Agoda), all you need is to walk for 2 to 3 minutes, and you will arrive at the twin towers and Suria KLCC, the luxury shopping mall beneath them.

Room prices for the Twin Tower View Rooms start from RM719 per night, and they come with a luxurious interior. But since the hotel has been around for some time, a small number of guests may encounter rooms with dated fittings. Permanent stains in the bathroom or in the bathtub found in a few of the hotel rooms may dismay guests who are very finicky about cleanliness.

Their comfortable beds and pillows are one of the highlights in the reviews written by their customers. The hotel carries out housekeeping services for each room twice a day. As mentioned by previous guests, you can step out for 30 minutes, and your room will be clean and tidy upon your return. It will be as if you just checked-in.

Past guests rated the hotel staffs highly, describing them as professional, friendly, attentive, and helpful. On top of that, the facilities also add up to the high praises for the hotel. Guests find the pool a fun place to be, while some love going to the spa to have a relaxing time.

Their breakfast at Mandarin Oriental (Booking.com / Agoda) is another reason why travelers love to stay here. There is a broad range of delicious food waiting for you every morning so you can fuel yourself with energy for the day ahead.

Runner-up: Traders Hotel

The Towers View Rooms and Suites at Traders Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) is a close runner-up. Room prices here start from as low as RM722, and the prices scale upwards from deluxe rooms to executive rooms and suites according to the floor space in each of these different type of rooms.

The twin towers are within walking distance from the hotel. For those who don’t want to walk through KLCC Park under the hot afternoon sun can use the buggy service connecting the hotel with Suria KLCC, the shopping mall below PETRONAS Twin Towers.

Traders Hotel’s customers love the splendid view in the Towers View Rooms and Suites. Combine that with a spotless room and a comfortable bed, you have the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening. Not to mention that their friendly staffs will try their best to cater to your needs. However, like Mandarin Oriental, Traders Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) has been around for some time. Thus, you might get a room with old and worn out furniture.

Business travelers and those with a little more budget to spend highly recommended the Traders Club Twin Towers View Room. With the upgrade, you will get access to the club lounge, which will serve free breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, as well as complimentary beverages throughout the day. Fresh fruits will show up on your doorsteps on a daily basis too.

Past guests described the breakfast at Traders Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) as excellent, but at the same time, a small number of guests do not like the variety of food provided. Moreover, the service level of staffs at the restaurant is poorer when compared against those from housekeeping or the front desk.

SkyBar, the rooftop bar, is the go-to place for travelers to admire the breathtaking architecture of the twin towers during sunset, and at night, even if they are not staying at the hotel. Patrons found the staffs here unfriendly at times, and the bar can get a little noisy for hotel guests on Friday and Saturday nights.

The hotel pool is just beside SkyBar. This means that it shares the same splendid view, but some guests who were using the pool felt the setting is a little awkward for them, especially when the staffs start to prepare the bar for the rest of the evening. The pool also closes early at 7:00 pm.

Other Luxury Choices

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) is another 5-star hotel within walking distance from PETRONAS Twin Towers. The hotel itself is so close to perfection. The only factor why it doesn’t top this list is because you’ll need to dole out an extra RM81 a day for your stay.

Past guests portrayed the cleanliness of the hotel and its room as “almost spotless.” Their rooms with a view of the twin towers come with floor-to-ceiling windows, giving you an unobstructed, wide-angle view of the stunning scenery outside. “It looks like it’s straight out of a film set,” one of the reviews describing the rooms reads.

From the doorman to the staffs manning the concierge, as well as the housekeeping crew, each of them is friendly, uphold a high standard of service, and they serve with a smile on their face. Everything else is nothing short of fantastic.

There are some minor qualms about how the hotel elevators work. Guests need to go to the sky lobby on the 39th floor before they can access their rooms through another bank of elevators. Also, the hotel does not provide any travel information, not even when you ask for them at the concierge.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) is another luxury option you can consider. The price of a room with a view of the PETRONAS Twin Towers (executive rooms and suites) here starts from RM668. The hotel is further away from the twin towers as compared to other hotels listed in this guide. You will still see them, but their impressive structure will look tinier.

There is an LRT station nearby, where you can take a train to reach the KLCC area. The hotel also provides a one-way shuttle bus service to KLCC, Petaling Street, and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. However, staying within walking distance from the twin towers will be much better since there is no need to worry about commuting.

The review scores assigned to DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) on the main hotel booking sites are lower than other hotels in its category. Their staffs are professional and helpful, but not as friendly. The rooms are clean, but some travelers didn’t like the old towels provided to them. Some of these towels even come with stains. Guests also disliked the slow check-in process, and they have mixed reviews for breakfasts. There were also complaints that some of the non-smoking rooms have cigarette smells.

Mid-range Rooms

We define mid-range rooms as rooms with a price tag of between RM400 to RM500.

Properties under this category have more shortcomings than those under Luxury Rooms and Suites. But at least they have rooms facing PETRONAS Twin Towers that cost significantly lesser.

Best Mid-range Pick: Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel

Superior Double or Twin Room with Tower View in the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) costs RM430 per night. It definitely seems like a bargain since Renaissance is a 5-star hotel just like its counterparts under the luxury rooms and suites category. But as we sift through online reviews, we found pointers suggesting why the room prices are low.

The rooms at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) are spacious, comfortable, and they have superb views. However, cleanliness can be an issue in some rooms, even after housekeeping carried out their duties. The furniture inside the rooms is so old that some guests even suggested that the hotel should undergo a renovation. Faulty air conditioners, as well as dirty and dusty carpets, seem to be the most common issues plaguing the rooms.

Walking from the hotel to PETRONAS Twin Towers takes around 10 minutes. As it is also near Bukit Nanas Monorail Station and Dang Wangi LRT Station, you can have easy access to most key attractions in Kuala Lumpur should you choose to stay here.

Another plus point for the hotel is its pool. Past guests really liked it because of the view from here, especially in the evening when the twin towers light up.

Recent online reviews show that the breakfast is average with mixed opinions on its variety. The breakfast place can get hectic during peak seasons. In one instance, a group of guests was not able to find empty seats for themselves after they arrived for breakfast.

Other Mid-range Options

Impiana KLCC Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) is a 4-star hotel sitting beside the KLCC to Bukit Bintang Pedestrian Walkway. Its room prices start at RM395 per night. Based on what we found online, the hotel does have rooms facing the twin towers. But for some reasons, they are not publicizing it. This is one of the reasons why they fell short of Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. What we do know for sure is that you can see PETRONAS Twin Towers from their infinity pool.

The hotel is a short walk away from the towers and the shopping mall beneath them. Besides, the KLCC to Bukit Bintang Pedestrian Walkway next to the hotel allows guest to reach Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and other attractions in the Bukit Bintang area conveniently.

The staffs here are friendly and helpful. Some of them are even willing to go the extra mile. However, they could be more attentive to requests put forward by guests.

A major issue with Impiana KLCC Hotel (Booking.com / Agoda) seems to be the upkeep of its rooms. The hotel is in a dated and old building, and since there is no proper maintenance, a lot of its fittings are faulty, dusty, non-functional or not ready for use. Dirty carpets, clogged sink drains and clumps of hair around the bathtub drainage are some examples of the things that greeted some guests who were checking into their rooms. Daily housekeeping was sloppy too because everyday tasks such as replacing used towels get missed.

On the plus side, the hotel provides comfortable beds and a pillow menu. You can pick the pillow that gives you the most comfort, so you can have a good night’s sleep.

Traveling in a Large Group?

Planning a Kuala Lumpur getaway for your family members or a group of friends? Take a look at the properties below.

By staying in these suites or apartments, your group gets to mingle within the same space, chill, and have a nice chat. The view of the twin towers will be the perfect backdrop for all these fun and relaxing interactions.

Best Pick for Groups: Somerset Ampang Kuala Lumpur

The 2-bedroom Premier Apartment at Somerset Ampang Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) is a spacious apartment with a view of PETRONAS Twin Towers. It costs RM730 per night. There is a king-sized bed and two single beds to accommodate up to 4 guests.

The location of the property is not as good as the other hotels mentioned in this guide. It takes around 20 to 30 minutes to walk to Suria KLCC and the twin towers. To get to the nearest LRT Station, Ampang Park LRT Station, you need to walk for about 5 minutes.

Despite the inconvenient location, the apartment trumped the executive suites at PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur to become our best pick for groups because the latter is almost twice as expensive. To the property’s credit, they are trying their best to relieve the agony that guests may have for the long walking distances to major attractions by offering a free shuttle service to the KLCC area.

Aside from the comfortable beds, spacious, clean bedrooms and bathrooms that you would expect from a 4-star accommodation provider, guests who put up here adore the view from its infinity pool and gym. Even though the property is a little far from PETRONAS Twin Towers, you can still see it clearly from the pool. The view, coupled with its length that is suitable for some serious swimming, is best for guests who just want to enjoy the view as well as those who want to have a swim.

Past guests described the staffs at Somerset Ampang Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) as attentive, great at solving guest problems, and friendly. On the flip side, there were also guests who felt the staffs could be more hospitable.

Other Choices for Groups

The PARKROYAL Executive Suites at PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) has the following rooms:

Master bedroom with a king-sized bed.
Second bedroom with a queen-sized bed.
Guestroom with a sofa bed.

These executive suites can accommodate up to 5 people, and they offer a view of PETRONAS Twin Towers that you are after.

The property sits next to Raja Chulan Monorail Station in the Bukit Bintang area. It is possible to walk to Suria KLCC and PETRONAS Twin Towers via the KLCC to Bukit Bintang Pedestrian Walkway at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, but it will take about 25 to 30 minutes.

Some guests who stayed here didn’t like the limited variety of food served for breakfast, while others find the continental breakfasts provided to be good. However, since the apartment hotel is just beside the busiest intersection in Bukit Bintang, guests will have many options for restaurants and bars. Food is the last thing you need to worry about when your hotel is in the Bukit Bintang area.

With a price tag starting at RM1,500 a night, you will not accept anything that is less than first class hospitality here.

Fortunately, PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) live up to its standards as a great place for families and groups of friends to stay. Courteous and helpful staffs, clean, well-furnished and spacious rooms were mentioned in a lot of reviews left by past guests. They also love the rooftop swimming pool. Moreover, these suites come with a kitchen, along with the cooking utensils and a full-sized fridge. All these are a godsend for groups that want to prepare their own meals.

Some guests reported that bathrooms in their suites were a little dirty during their stay while some encountered noisy air conditioning units. These are unlikely to cause significant inconveniences, though.

What if I Cannot Afford the Rooms Above?

If you are on a tight budget, there are two ways to go about how you plan where to stay in Kuala Lumpur.

The first option is to stay one or two nights at any of the hotels mentioned above for the view of the twin towers. Then, for the rest of your trip, you can stay at cheaper hotels or even hostels around Kuala Lumpur.

If the first option is too tedious, then you can stay at a hotel in the KLCC area, but does not have rooms with a view of the twin towers. When you feel like chilling or taking a walk while gazing at the twin towers, all you need to do is to head over to KLCC Park or the SkyBar at Traders Hotel. Sounds like a plan? Then the following hotels might interest you.

Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur (Booking.com / Agoda) is a hotel just 5 minutes walk away from PETRONAS Twin Towers. You can also access KLCC LRT Station via Avenue K, a shopping mall just across the street from the hotel.

Room prices at Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur start from RM285. They do not promote that they have rooms with a view of the twin towers, but it is possible to see them from where the hotel is. If you really want a room with the view, try requesting for it when you are checking in. From their swimming pool, you can only see one of the twin towers.

Cleanliness is a problem here. Many of the hotel’s fittings are old and dusty due to poor maintenance. Also, there were multiple reviews about bathrooms with dirty shower curtains. Another nuisance that past guests highlighted is the noise coming from the main road outside the hotel. It prevented some guests from having a restful night. As for the service rendered by hotel staffs, there is a huge room for improvement.

Overall, it is an average hotel. Guests love to stay here because of its convenient location, and room prices that are lower than other hotels in the vicinity.

The other budget hotel just beside PETRONAS Twin Towers is the Le Apple Boutique Hotel KLCC (Booking.com / Agoda). The 3-star hotel has the cheapest rooms among hotels mentioned in this guide. Its room prices start from RM260, which is a steal considering it is just 5 to 7 minutes walk away from PETRONAS Twin Towers, Suria KLCC, Avenue K, and KLCC LRT Station.

However, you need to keep in mind that this is a budget and no-frills hotel. Although most guests became satisfied customers after their stay, there are some negatives about staying here that you need to know.

Like Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur, its rooms, especially the ones facing the main road, has poor soundproofing. Upon arriving at the respective floors where their rooms are, many guests were greeted with a dark corridor shrouded with a weird, musty smell. The bathroom was dirty, and the bedsheets were dusty in some rooms. Also, housekeeping was poorly done most of the time because they need to get the rooms ready in a short amount of time. Some guests also encountered staffs that were rude towards them.

If you are on a tight budget, and all the possible cons I mentioned don’t sound that bad, Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Le Apple Boutique Hotel KLCC are your best options to stay in one of the most famous spots in Kuala Lumpur.

Wrapping It Up

Staying at a hotel in the KLCC area is expensive, and you will need to pay more for a room where you can see PETRONAS Twin Towers while lazing around in your bed.

I hope this guide is useful. Just keep in mind that you don’t have to stay in a luxury hotel or apartment throughout your Kuala Lumpur trip. If you just want to experience marveling at the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers from your room or to celebrate a special occasion, staying in a room with a view of the twin towers for one or two nights is more than sufficient.
