For the second consecutive year we are receiving volunteers in Giasnogor. People from Australia and Spain have come, all of them from Marist schools or Marist environments. People who have decided to miss a few weeks of their holidays to be with us. They have given up themselves during the time they have spent with us, they have never complained about anything, they have collaborated in whatever we have proposed. I sometimes thought to myself that these people could be on the beach right now, sunbathing with a glass in their hands, but instead they were here enduring heat, getting wet under the monsoon, getting stuck on the roads, eating spicy food. Our children adore them not so much for what they have done but for how they have done it. I think we're all a little better thanks to them. But I do not have the slightest doubt that the volunteers have been the ones who have won; they have learned a lot of things from the poor and from the simple, they have experienced (really, really) that money is not happiness. And in the end, they are also better now thanks to our people in Bangladesh. Thanks a lot.

Por segundo año consecutivo estamos recibiendo voluntarios en Giasnogor. Ha venido gente de Australia y de España, todos ellos de colegios o ambientes maristas. Gente que ha decidido perder unas semanas de sus vacaciones para estar con nosotros. Se han desvivido durante el tiempo que han pasado con nosotros, no se han quejado ni una sola vez de nada, han colaborado en lo que les hemos propuesto, se han dejado la piel. Yo a veces pensaba para mis adentros que estas personas podrían estar en este momento en la playa, tomando el sol con un cubata en la mano, pero en cambio estaban aquí pasando calor, mojándose bajo el monzón, atascándose en las carreteras, comiendo comida picante. Nuestros niños y niñas les adoran no tanto por lo que Han Hecho sino por cómo lo han hecho. Creo que todos somos un poco Mejores Gracias a ellos. Pero no me cabe la menor duda de que han sido los voluntarios los que han salido ganando; han aprendido un montón de cosas de los pobres y de los sencillos, han experimentado (de verdad, realmente) que el dinero no da la felicidad. Y a fin de cuentas, ellos también son ahora mejores gracias a nuestras gentes de Bangladesh. Gracias de corazón.
