the Tathāgata

Hello all, so sorry if this kind of post isnt allowed. This is my first time posting here.

So in my Buddhism class we have to write an essay and the prompt of the essay is "How has the Buddha come, and how has he gone?"

My teacher said that some things we can talk about (but arent limited to) are: 1. Our Buddha’s extended biography (think about past and future Buddhas and the Buddha’s relics)

  1. The characteristics of a Buddha (especially the Buddha as a teacher)

  2. the nature of nirvāṇa

My question to you guys is, what exactly does she mean by how has the Buddha come and gone? Like am i supposed to talk about just how the buddha came to be and the legacy he left behind? Or is there a deeper meaning im missing?
