Retro arcade bar NQ64 to open on Baldwin Street

It’s time to take a trip down memory lane this summer, with Retro Arcade Bar NQ64 set to open on Baldwin Street in July.

With existing sites across the UK, NQ64 founder Matt Robson has set his sights on Bristol for the next branch of his neon-splattered, nostalgic drinking dens.

Bristol’s NQ64 will be located in the former Opa Luxury Hall, with a capacity of around 300, and is set to be the first immersive Arcade Bar experience of its kind in the South West. Packed with consoles from the 90s and early 00s – as well as a dazzling array of retro arcade games going back even further in time – guests can enjoy spending the evening playing their favourite childhood games including Pac-Man, Time Crisis, Street Fighter, Guitar Hero and more.

As well as the games this adult-only venue will feature a strong drinks offering. Expect game-themed cocktails like the Dr Ro Bev Nik (a cherry Old Fashioned), the Powerstar Martini (a twist on a passionfruit martini), and the Aku Aku Fruit Punch, which is inspired by Crash Bandicoot. There will also be a large selection of beers, wines and sodas on offer, as well as retro snacks like Space Raiders and Pot Noodles.

Matt Robson, NQ64 founder, says, “I love Bristol, it’s a mega city! I have conducted some thorough research into its vibrant hospitality scene, and I can’t wait to be part of it. I hope that we will bring a fun different offering to the city, but that’s for Bristol to decide!”

NQ64 will open seven days a week, from 4pm-2am on weekdays, and from 12 noon to 2am on Saturdays and Sundays.
