Upon his visit to Israel, United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken shook hand firmly with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu in order to show solidarity with Israel. Both the countries have friendship and alliance beyond politics.

Blinken said at the brief, “You may be strong enough in your own to defend yourself, but as long as America exists, you will never ever have to worry, we will always be there by your side.”

Standing on the other dais along Blinken, Netanyahu said, “Mr Secretary, your visit is another tangible example for America’s unequivocal support for Israel”.

Netanyahu, has critized Hamas by calling it as the enemy of civilization.

Military and intelligence from America have arrived in Israel with the world’s largest aircraft carrier having plenty of war planes.

Israel has continued and unstopped bombing at Gaza despite of the United Nations statement that the civilians may be allowed to provide a safe passage.

Al-Jazeera interviewed a reporter, Hoda Abdel-Hamid, West Jerusalem from outside the Knesset. She quoted Israeli Prime Minister that the general public should refrain from interacting Hamas as the PM thinks to eliminate and get rid of the group.

She said, as far as public opinion on the issue is concerned, Israelis are a sort of people who unite together in solidarity is times of need but Netanyahu is well aware about the fact that he is under a lot of scrutiny.

She further said that once the dust is over, he will have to answer the toughest questions.

She gave the results of the polls that came out today:

  • According to 94% of those who are questioned believed that the government is responsible for the defense failure.
  • According to 84%, there was the failure of political leadership with respect to October 7 attack.
  • While 56% say that Netanyahu should go once the war is over.
