Talking about Delhi: BJP turned a blind eye to corruption

New Delhi: Following the defeat in the Karnataka Assembly Elections, the BJP has lost its grip. In Karnataka, BJP was hoping to win more than hundred seats but instead ended up with less than 70 seats. There is no possibility for BJP to form government by subverting Congress or JDS.

The BJP leader blamed the high command's policy of turning a blind eye to corruption for the defeat. The Congress launched a fierce campaign nine months ago alleging that Basavaraj Bommai's government in Karnataka was eating 40 per cent commission in every government contract.

Although some BJP leaders also complained, the high command did not take the matter seriously. The high command was convinced that Modi's charisma and Hindutva will turn the tide. This overconfidence has been lost on the BJP. BJP's humiliating old leaders like Laxman Sawadi and Jagdish Shettar and forcing them to leave the party has also affected the elections.

Congress now confident of victory in three more states

Congress is in high spirits after its victory in the Karnataka Assembly Elections. At the end of this year there are assembly elections in four states namely Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana. Congress now feels that, out of these four states, Congress can form the government by winning at least three states.

There was a mood of depression in the Congress following the very bad results in Gujarat, but the defeat of the BJP in the Karnataka assembly elections has brought enthusiasm among the Congress workers. The Congress leader believes that these results have given a clear message to the workers that even BJP can be defeated if you work hard. After the victory in Karnataka, the Congress will now be able to contest the assembly elections with more strength.

BJP is worried after the defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections. Madhya Pradesh. Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana are the four states where the BJP has to fight strong opposition, except for Madhya Pradesh. In this scenario BJP has to make a new strategy.

The victory in Karnataka saved Kharge's face

Karnataka assembly election results D.K. The pair of Sivakumar and Siddaramaiah has become a super hit. At the same time, the face of Congress President Mallikarjun Khagde has also been saved. If Khadge can't win the Congress in his home state of Karnataka, DK has an opportunity to campaign on how to win the Congress at the national level. Due to the duo of Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, it has been wrested away from the BJP.

Congress leaders believe that Sivakumar and Siddaramaiah have set an example in a faction-ridden Congress by putting aside their differences and fighting with a single-minded approach to win the Congress. In the past, Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan and Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia in Madhya Pradesh showed similar unity but then came face to face in power sharing.

D.K. Time will tell what will happen to Shivkumar and Siddaramaiah, but if both of them do not fight for power, the Congress can defeat the BJP even in the Lok Sabha elections.

Yogi's bulldozer in UP, grew nationally

Yogi Adityanath's bulldozer has turned again in the local Swaraj elections in urban areas in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP was not in the field in the assembly elections but BJP's ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has given a crushing defeat to the Samajwadi Party. In the elections of mayors and municipal and town panchayat presidents of 17 cities of UP, the BJP has won more than two-thirds of the posts. Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party is second while Mayawati's BSP is nowhere in the picture.

According to political analysts, this victory has proved Yogi Adityanath's one-cycle rule in UP, but Yogi's clout will increase in national politics as well. Following these results, Yogi has no rival in UP. Yogi had strengthened his claim by winning the BJP for the second time in a row in the UP assembly elections.

AAP destroyed the last bastion of Congress in Punjab

Aam Aadmi Party has given a big shock to the Congress by winning the by-election of Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat in Punjab. Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat was considered a stronghold of Congress. Congress has won this seat five times in a row since 1999. Four times out of them Congress fielded different candidates but Congress won. This time Congress gave ticket to Santok Singh Chaudhary's wife Karamjit Chaudhary who won twice in a row but she has to face defeat. Chowdhury died of a heart attack during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Aam Aadmi Party is elated with this victory. The leaders of Aam Aadmi Party believe that these results have blown away the huge anger among the people against the Bhagwant Mann government. BJP and Akali Dal candidates were also in the fray. The Congress says that BJP-Akali candidates have got the benefit of splitting the votes.

Lt. Governor Saxena's condition is critical

Although the Supreme Court ruled that the state government is supreme in Delhi, the lieutenant governor did not listen to the state government. Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has become complacent by filing a complaint in the Supreme Court within 24 hours of the Delhi government's verdict on this issue. He has defended that he will implement the Supreme Court order as soon as he gets the copy.

According to sources, Saxena's condition has become like a betel nut in the wake of the verdict. If the state government doesn't believe it, it will be contempt of court and if the center doesn't believe it, there will be house arrest.

Following the Supreme Court verdict, Minister-in-charge Saurabh Bhardwaj ordered the removal of Service Department Secretary Ashish More with immediate effect and the appointment of Anil Kumar Singh in his place. As Saxena did not allow its implementation, the Kejriwal government has complained to the Supreme Court that the central government is not allowing the state government's order to be implemented.

The cheerfulness between the Governor and Mamata disappeared

Governor of West Bengal C.V. The gaiety between Anand Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seems to have been missing for the past few months. This is evident from the fact that both the leaders started resorting to satire against each other on various issues. Four months earlier, on January 26, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had gifted Bose a Bengali alphabet book at a function at Raj Bhavan. However, the relationship between the Governor and the Chief Minister has started to sour after the Governor sacked Nandini Chakraborty, who was appointed by the Mamata government in February. It escalated on April 4, when Bose issued a circular to send weekly reports to all universities in the state. Also, the Governor instructed all the Vice Chancellors to take their consent in decisions regarding the financial affairs of the universities. The Governor has issued the above instructions unilaterally. An official cited a 2019 West Bengal government rule saying that communication between the chancellor (governor) and chancellors should be through the education department.

Gulmarg decorated to welcome G-20 delegates

Gulmarg, an international tourist resort in north Kashmir's Baramulla, is all set to welcome visiting delegations from G-20 nations later this month. The administration of Baramulla is finalizing all arrangements related to this issue. No restrictions have been imposed in the city as the city's educational institutions and markets remain open. In this way, the grand program of G-20 will leave a memorable mark in the history of Baramulla district.

Central intervention demanded for women's return home

Some Punjabi women after reaching Muscat, the capital of Oman, trapped in the trap of bogus travel agents, are now stuck there and are wandering here and there. Punjab government's NRI minister Kuldeep Singh Dhami, who has taken up the task of bringing them back to the country safely, has on Friday sought the intervention of the central government for the work. In a letter sent to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, he has requested to raise the issue of women's safety and repatriation on humanitarian basis with the concerned Omani embassy. He has requested the Ministry of External Affairs to take necessary steps to close the shops of fake travel agents.

Barmer Oil Refinery Hot Election - Why the Issue?

It has been two decades since oil and gas was found in the dusty area of Barmer, Rajasthan. An agreement between Rajasthan and the Center to develop a 90 lakh metric tonne crude oil refinery here is also a decade old thing. However, the ambitious Barmer Pachpadar Oil Refinery project, which is the brainchild of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, is still at the work-in-progress stage. The refinery is a key issue for both the Congress and the BJP, who are busy campaigning for the Rajasthan assembly elections this year. The project has missed several deadlines. The local has faced dozens of controversies and was a political arena for votes in the 2013 and 2018 Rajasthan assembly elections, yet it is being considered a major venture that will reshape Rajasthan's economic picture, experts say.
