house hunting in London

i wouldn't wish this upon anyone, but I have to say that facing your fears is empowering and totally worth it.

so it comes a time in one's life when, despite all efforts to never grow up... you kinda have to, at least in certain aspects. this happened to me, when I decided - not planned and really out of nowhere - that I want to buy my own flat in London

If asked by anyone, I cannot really say why I have made this sudden decision and what were the thoughts behind it. I think it could be that perhaps, for the first time in my life I feel safe and settled. I live in an area that I like, that it's growing and changing enormously towards a better area. I am Close to work and I am very central, close to anything in London. So no lengthy commute. I have a garden so I get an outside space in central London. Very rare.

I have a good job, that pays well and I have a bit of extra money saved, my parents can help to top that up and I can get a decent deposit. Prices are always on the rise and there is a limit to what I can borrow for a mortgage so I thought, why not? What not make the big, bold move and get my own place.

I thought I could take the easy way - to buy the one that I am renting at the moment. As I had no desire to waste looking for other places online, going to see them, engage in price wars with other desperate buyers and basically go through the whole shebang.

After a couple of months of waiting for my landlord, he told me that I need to start looking somewhere else because the property that I am in at the moment is not for sale.
