NEW DELHI: The owner of the Hotel, New Vinayak Rolpa Jaljali Guest House, located in Kathmandu, Nepal, has confirmed that Pakistan’s Seema Haider stayed in the hotel along with her Indian lover Sachin.

Speaking to The New Indian, Ganesh Roka Mager, the owner of the hotel, said that Seema and Sachin stayed in room number 204. He also said that they were in his hotel for seven-eight days.

While Ganesh does not recall the exact date, he confirmed that Seema and Sachin stayed in the hotel in March.

“They stayed for seven-eight days in room number 204. Sachin had come first and was told that his wife would be coming the next day. She came the next day, but we never asked her name,” Ganesh told The New Indian over the phone.

Ganesh also said that Seema and Sachin had not given their ID proofs, as it is not mandatory in his hotel. “Sachin told me that he came from India and that was enough for us,” Ganesh said.

The hotel never recorded their entry on the register, but Ganesh said he remembered their faces. “I got to know about Seema and Sachin when I saw them on television. I was shocked to know about them,” he said.

Ganesh also said that Sachin did not give his actual name and only said that he came from India.

Ganesh said that as of now, no security agency, local police or any police from India have approached him asking about Seema and Sachin.

“Both would often stay inside the room. They would also talk to my wife and record videos as well. Nobody came to meet them. After their stay, Seema left first and Sachin left on the second day,” Ganesh said.

Ganesh also said they usually stay inside the room, but in the mornings and evenings they would go to nearby places like Pashupati Nath Mandir for a visit.

Ganesh, who started the hotel a year ago, also said his hotel charges ₹500 for one night’s stay. “I was working in Saudi Arabia in the hotel industry. My wife stayed here in Nepal and she used to run a shop. After my return, I started this hotel by converting my wife’s shop,” he said.

Ganesh reiterated that he never saw the duo again. But he guessed that Seema must have come in May and gone directly to the bus stand to catch a bus to India.

The Gadar-inspired Pakistan’s Seema Haider and Greater Noida’s Sachin caught the attention of many as the story of how she sold all her properties and travelled from Karachi to Rabupura village via the porous Nepal border, with her four children in tow, came to the fore.

Seema and Sachin met in the mobile game PUBG and fell in love. She decided to leave her husband, Ghulam Haider and came to India to marry Sachin.

Seema was quick to adapt to Indian customs, according to Sachin’s mother. She also won over the family with her decision to change her religion. She also changed the names of her children.

However, despite being given bail from the court, their story is far from over, as the UP Police ATS has booked them, along with Sachin’s father Netrapal, under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 and Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) at Rabupura Police Station.

According to the UP Police ATS FIR, they have recovered two video cassettes recording the memories of Seema’s childhood and her marriage with her estranged husband Ghulam Haider, three bus tickets worth ₹15,000 each from Nepal, four mobile phones and her Pakistani identity proofs.
