Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy directed officials on Tuesday to expedite work on the 125-foot bronze statue of BR Ambedkar and the museum coming up on 11.5 acres adjacent to Hussain Sagar.
The Minister, who visited the statue site, told R&B officials that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was eager to finish the statue before the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar on April 14.
He inspected the main Statue, the rock garden, the landscape area plantation, the main entrance, the water fountain, the sand stone works, the granite flooring, the lift works, the stairs to the main statue, the ramp works, the audio visual room, and the false ceiling, and made a few suggestions to the authorities and the works agency.
The Minister directed officials to complete the main statue by March 30, the entrance lawn by March 28, the rock garden by April 1, and the plantation by April 5.
He requested that officials and the construction company increase manpower so that the work could be completed on time.

The Minister was accompanied by R&B officials, representatives of construction companies and architects.
Chief Minister KCR recently inspected the final stages of work at the new Secretariat building, the Dr.BR Ambedkar Statue and the Martyrs Memorial, all of which are expected to be inaugurated soon.
The Chief Minister began his inspection tour at the Secretariat and thoroughly examined every aspect of the ongoing work. He inspected the elevation work, fountains, green lawns, and masonry work, all of which were in the final stages.
