Gaza, dated 12 March 2024

Hopes of a truce between Israel and Hamas during the holy month of Ramadan have been dashed.

Israel has continued military operations in Gaza. On the first day of the month of Ramadan, 67 people have been killed in Israeli Attacks, and at the same time, the number of civilians killed in Israeli attacks in Palestine has exceeded 31,000, the Ministry of Health of Gaza has claimed.

Due to Israel's actions, scenes of darkness, hunger and widespread desolation are seen in Gaza even in the month of Ramadan. However, even in such a situation, people have started fasting.

The humanitarian crisis in Palestine is worsening due to Israeli attacks. The United States, Qatar and Egypt had hoped that the war would cease before the month of Ramadan and that the Palestinian people in Israeli jails and the Israeli citizens held hostage by Hamas would be exchanged, but this was not possible. Now that the month of Ramadan has started, the possibility of a ceasefire has become dim as Israel has not stopped the attacks.

According to Gaza's Ministry of Health, 67 people died on the first day of Ramadan, 75 percent of them women and children.
