New delhi date. 16 October 2023, Monday
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday chaired the first meeting of the country's emergency government cabinet since the war with Hamas broke out. The cabinet observed a minute's silence for those killed in the terrorist attack on southern Israel.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said during the meeting that we are united and working round the clock with teamwork. The unity within us gives a clear message to people, enemies and the world.
All the ministers observed a minute's silence
Former Israeli Defense Minister and military chief Benny Gantz issued a joint statement with Netanyahu. He will form a five-member war-management cabinet, the statement said. As long as the fighting continues, the government will not pass any law or decision that is not related to the war. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in the meeting, "I urge the members of the government to observe a minute's silence in memory of the people of our country and our soldiers who were brutally killed." After the PM's insistence, all the ministers present in the meeting observed a minute's silence. Meanwhile, Netanyahu said that this is the first meeting of the national emergency government.

We will tear Hamas to pieces
Benjamin Netanyahu said that I have seen our wonderful soldiers who are now on the front lines and they know that the whole country is behind them. They understand the horror of the task. They are ready to act at any moment to wipe out the blood-sucking demons and those who seek to destroy us. If Hamas thinks we are going to collapse, it is not. We will tear Hamas to pieces.
