Seeing the enthusiasm of the pilgrims, Chardham Yatra is moving towards a new record this time as well. The number of Devotees who came for darshan during the two-month pilgrimage has crossed 30 lakhs. This journey will continue for another four months. Last year, 46 Lakh Devotees visited Chardham during the entire pilgrimage.
The government expects more than 50 lakh devotees to come
Chardham Yatra started on April 22 with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri, followed by the opening of Kedarnath on April 25 and Badrinath Dham on April 27. Chardham Yatra started in full swing. While the gates of Hemkund Sahib were opened on 20 May. The number of devotees visiting Chardham in the two months of the Yatra has crossed 30 lakhs. In which maximum 10.20 lakh devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham. The government is expecting more than 50 lakh devotees to come for the yatra this time. The number of registrations for the Yatra has also crossed 48 lakhs.

So far more than 30 lakh devotees have visited Chardham including Gangotri - 5,35,327, Yamunotri - 4,65,295, Kedarnath - 10,17,195, Badrinath - 8,98,221, Hemkund Sahib - 88,455 devotees have left for further after visiting Chardham. .
Employees are prohibited from going on strike
Ahead of the upcoming monsoon season and amid the ongoing Char Dham Yatra, the Uttarakhand government issued a notice on June 17 barring all state services employees from going on strike for the next six months. Under sub-section (1) of section (3) of the Uttar Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act (1966), strikes under state services are prohibited for a period of six months from the date of publication of the Lieutenant Governor's notice.
