- Politics on milk ahead of elections in southern states

- Amul-Nandini join forces to expand dairy network in state: Shah, BJP wants to kill local brands of milk: Congress

Bengaluru: With assembly elections to be held in Karnataka next month, politics has heated up over the issue of milk. The Congress has termed the BJP's conspiracy to allow Gujarat's milk dairy Amul Company to enter the state. Amul's entry before the assembly elections has become part of the electoral battle. On the other hand traders have come forward in support of farmers in Karnataka and have laid special emphasis on Nandini milk.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claimed that during his reign from 2013 to 2018, Gujarat's dairy brand Amul had tried to enter the state but had failed it, now the BJP is welcoming it with open arms. Recently Union Home Minister Amit Shah said during his Karnataka tour that Amul and Nandini will work together to establish a dairy in every village in Karnataka and will also establish it in villages where there is no dairy.

The Congress has termed Shah's announcement as a move by the Congress and alleged that two big leaders of Gujarat, PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, want to shut down Karnataka's local brand Nandini. Shah is playing a big role in ruining it. Congress leaders said that Nandini is the lifeline of the state, but the BJP leader wants to impose Amul on us. He added that we don't want Gujarat model, we have a better Karnataka model. Siddaramaiah also announced people to boycott Amul. After that hashtag Gobak Amul and hashtag Save Nandini started trending on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Greater Bengaluru Hotels Association has decided to use only Nandini milk, supporting the farmers of the state. Now it will use only local dairy brand Nandini, the association said. Kannadigas should promote only Nandini milk products.

Uproar over CRPF recruitment after yogurt in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin continues to attack the Center over the Hindi language issue. While the controversy over curd on food packets in the state has barely calmed down, now Chief Minister Stalin has created an uproar over the recruitment of CRPF. Stalin alleged that the central government was imposing Hindi language on the people of Tamil Nadu. He has protested against the inclusion of Tamil in the digital exam for CRPF recruitment. He also wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah regarding this. In a letter to the Home Minister, he said that making only English and Hindi compulsory in the CRPF recruitment exam is tantamount to doing injustice to the people of the state. The exam can be written in English and Hindi only, making candidates from Tamil Nadu unable to appear in their mother tongue.
