After the biggest reshuffle in the second term of the Modi government, the central government has also restructured powerful Cabinet committees. Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Bhupendra Yadav and Sarvanand Sonowal have been included as new members of the Cabinet Committees on Political Affairs under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Modi. In addition, the Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth, chaired by the Prime Minister, includes Narayan Rane, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Ashwini Vaishnav. As a result, the size of Smriti Irani, Sarvanand Sonowal and Jyotiraditya Scindia has increased in the new cabinet.
New ministers have been included in various committees after a major reshuffle in the cabinet. Union Ministers Arjun Munda, Virender Kumar, Kiran Rijiju and Anurag Thakur have been included in the Rajig Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs. However, no changes have been made to the Security Committee as well as the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the country's largest decision-maker on security matters. The Appointments Committee decides on important government appointments in the Joint Secretary and above.
The members of the Cabinet Security Committee include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar. The two-member appointment committee includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Besides, the nine-member Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs includes PM Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Narendra Singh Tomar, S. Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan. DV Sadanand Gowda and Ravi Shankar Prasad have been dropped from the committee. The new members of the Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, include Narayan Rane, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Ashwini Vaishnav. Apart from this, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal are the old members of this committee.
After the reorganization of the Union Cabinet, discussions are now in full swing for a major reshuffle in the BJP. There are some vacancies in the BJP organization and there is talk of giving posts to some of the ministers who have been removed from the cabinet. There are currently four vacancies in the BJP parliamentary board. When Bhupendra Yadav becomes a minister, a new secretary general will be appointed in his place.
However, according to sources, there is no talk of giving any responsibility to former health minister Harshvardhan and others in the organization at present. As young ministers have been selected in the Union Cabinet, young leaders in the BJP are also likely to be given responsibilities in vacant posts. Thus, Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar and Dr. Where to include senior leaders like Harshvardhan has become a matter of confusion for the BJP.
