The proceedings of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly began at 11 a.m. on Saturday and proceedings began amid a commotion by the opposition over law and order.
Hriday Narayan Dixit, a member of the Legislative Assembly, repeatedly urged the legislators to remain calm but the members did not comply, and came to the well and started chanting anti-government slogans.
Although the Legislative Assembly passed 27 bills even during this commotion, all these bills were passed in a proceeding that lasted only 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly adjourned the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly for 15 minutes. It was then extended for half an hour, the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly resumed at 12 o'clock and yet the commotion did not subside.
Although the Parliamentary Affairs Minister tabled and passed one M27 bill after another at the behest of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the SP and BSP walked out on the issues of law and order, unemployment and farmers.
