Reacting sharply to the comments made by the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt on its MLAs, the State Congress has said that instead of commenting on others Bhatt should look into the incidents of indiscipline in his own party. The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said on Tuesday that Bhatt should inform about the disciplinary action taken by him in the last two years. She said that six councillors of the BJP attacked the residence of a trader Pravin Bhardwaj in Ansal Green Valley. They misbehaved with Bhardwaj’s wife and vandalised his house. Instead of taking action on these councillors the police registered a case against Bhardwaj. She said that Bhatt should tell what action was taken by the State party unit on these councillors. She added that cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal was seen mercilessly beating a worker in Rishikesh in a video but no action was taken against him. Dasauni said that in a similar incident a person was beaten by supporters of cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi in his presence but again Bhatt took no cognisance of the issue. She said that one office bearer of BJP Mahila Morcha is an accused in murder of an NRI but Bhatt has not removed her from the party. Dasauni said that instead of commenting on any MLA of opposition, Bhatt should do introspection and set his own house in order. The Congress leader also cornered the BJP government and BJP State president for failing to organise a single programme to offer condolence to Ankita Bhandari on her death anniversary.  She said that it shows that the Uttarakhand BJP is standing with Pulkit Arya, the accused in the Ankita murder and his father.
