Maharashtra BJP Chief Chandrakant Patil led himself in trouble as he made a sexist remark toward NCP leader Supriya Sule on Wednesday. He told MP Supriya Sule during a protest that if she does not understand politics, then she should go home and cook.

It is reported that the sexist comment was made as the two parties sparred over reservations for Other Backward Class (OBC) in Maharashtra jobs and education.

Maharashtra chief made the remark when he was reacting to Supriya Sule’s comparison of Maharashtra’s fight for OBC quota with that of Madhya Pradesh and questioning how the BJP ruled state got the green signal from the Supreme Court.

In Marathi, Supriya Sule told a party meeting that the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh came to Delhi and met someone, and after that, she does not know what suddenly happened over the next two days and they got a go-ahead for OBC reservations.

When the Maharashtra BJP chief got to know about the comment at the protest nearby, he said that why is she in the politics. She should go home and cook, she is in politics and she does not understand how to meet a Chief Minister. He further said that she should go to Delhi or to hell or to wherever but should give reservations.

Recently, BJP has been accusing Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena-NCP coalition of not doing enough for the OBC quota, which was put on hold by the Supreme Court.

As the Maharashtra BJP chief made the remark, Supriya Sule’s husband Sadanand Sule shared about the exchange on Twitter and called BJP a misogynistic party. In a thread, Sadanand Sule, further wrote that he is proud of his wife who is a homemaker, mother and a SUCCESSFUL politician, one amongst many other hardworking and talented women in India….this is an insult to all women….
