Mumbai city has got many monuments and structures which remind us of the colonial past. It has also got a shady darker side of the same. And everyone in the city have formed opinions on certain seemingly shady places which one doesn’t want to visit. In fact, the ‘shady’ tag has impacted the Property for sale in Mumbai in certain areas. Nevertheless, if you want you can surely try visiting these places to check whether or not you are brave enough.

Aarey Milk Colony
Established in 1949, Aarey Milk Colony is a vast area with trees covered on both sides of the roads. This area is famous for it remarkable and unexpectedly ghostly images. A huge number of accidents have been reported in this area and all the passers by claim that a woman in a saree carrying a child has asked them for lift and then she abruptly disappears. Mumbaikars avoid this pathway as far as possible after sunset.

Mukesh Mills

Built in 1870, Mukesh Mills in presently being used as a ready-made shooting location for horror films. The textile mill has been deserted after a fire accident took place in 1980’s. The most popular incident at this place reported was that of an actress possessed by a spirit and warning the people in male voice to clear off the location. Loss of food items, water bottles, wallets, film shooting gear and other belongings have been reported on numerous occasions by various film crew.

Tower of silence

Another haunted place in Mumbai which the localites avoid going to is the Tower of Silence located on Malabar hill in South Mumbai. It is actually a Parsi cemetery where the  Zoroastrians or Parsis leave the dead bodies in the open without cremating/burying for the vultures to feed on.

They follow this procedure because they believe that the bodies which have arised from the nature are returned to the same place. Ghastly sounds are heard from the forsaken bungalow on 12th road, Juhu.
