John Wick is back, and it looks like there is a dog involved again.

I am not a huge fan of Keanu Reeves, and I dislike films where animals get hurt even more. When John Wick involved both I avoided the film as it just didn’t seem to be my cup of tea. After many people assured me the harm to the dog was integral to the plot – and not shown in great detail – I finally decided to give it a go.

I’m glad I did.

It was a fun romp with an intriguing world built around it. It seemed to be a world where hitmen are just a part of it and no one seems to mind that they exist. They have their own hotels, their own clubs, currency and businesses that cater to them. And Wick had at one time been the king of this world.

Was it high brow entertainment? Nope. Did I care? Nope.

Going back into this world is interesting to me, but I have to admit any time a sequel feels the need to include a foreign locale to change things up I just think, “Oh no… you don’t have much to say this time,” but I’ll still watch.

In this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick [Keanu Reeves] is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.
