Families of imprisoned Tunisian dissidents head to ICC

Family members of imprisoned lawyers and politicians in Tunisia are urging the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate allegations of political persecution and human rights abuses. The families' lawyer stated that detainees have been unlawfully held, mistreated, and tortured without knowing the charges against them, with no end in sight for their detention. The case has been brought under Article 15 of the ICC's Rome Statute, which allows the prosecutor to initiate investigations independently. The group also alleges a campaign of persecution against Black migrants in Tunisia. They are calling on the ICC prosecutor to visit Tunisia and send a clear message against such crimes.
