I still catch myself using the word 'recent' or 'new' to refer to movies/music that I eventually realise were released almost 20 years ago. Y2K was the biggest visual milestone in time when I was growing up - the hype only compounded by everyone from Nostradamus to computer scientists predicting the end of the world.

Seeing that people born after 2000 are now earning, achieving, prominent members of society and even celebrities in the world is a glaring reminder of my age. Seeing how I look in photos and videos taken by others is honesty I'm coming to terms with, what my own Mirror doesn’t share with me.

The human mind can totally give photo filter apps a run for their money.
