Alkaline Diet Lifestyle Mistakes – First Things First…

My intention behind creating this post is not to judge you or talk down on you. Like I said, many of the mistakes I share, I have been guilty of myself.

So, it’s all coming from a place of love, to help you on your wellness journey and make it as simple as possible. The best results are created by repeating simple habits over time. Again and again.

And so, it’s important to make sure you’re on the right path…

These are the Most Common Alkaline Diet Mistakes and Misconceptions

#1 Taking Action from a Place of Fear and Lack

It’s when you decide to give this alkaline thing a try, because you want to lose weight fast or are looking for some overnight health success. This is the mindset of chasing something outside of yourself.

Instead, I recommend taking meaningful action from a place of confidence, abundance, and curiosity.

You can ask yourself questions like “How would it feel like to live a healthy, alkaline lifestyle?”, or “How will my life change in the next 5 years, if I decide to eat more alkaline superfoods?”

Alkaline Diet is not something that you do for a week or 5 days to lose some weight fast. It’s more of a lifestyle change you choose to create long-term health benefits. It’s like investing in yourself and your energy.

Whatever you do, especially for your health and wellbeing (although this mindset also applies to other areas of life), promise yourself to take meaningful action from a place of abundance and confidence. That will help you avoid frustration so that you can keep going while enjoying a super healthy lifestyle.

#2 Obsessed with Calories and “Dieting”

This is something I call the “Restriction Mindset”, or a typical “diet” mindset:

“Ah, OK, I can ONLY eat alkaline foods now (which is another mistake by the way) the rest is off forever. Oh, and I need to count calories…”

This is the recipe for failure…and it’s not healthy at all…

In reality, the only thing you need to focus on is the NOURISHMENT that your body needs to THRIVE.

It’s not about eating less, it’s about eating right. I wrote one of my bestselling books, How to Lose Massive Weight with the Alkaline Diet, using this simple principle to help people lose weight with alkaline foods (without feeling deprived).

About the book- the title is a bit cheesy, I know, I wrote it back in 2013 when I was very inexperienced with creating titles and publishing; still, the book was created from a place of love and passion and helped thousands of people. Over the years, the book evolved, and so if you are interested in getting it, I highly recommend you grab its latest 2019 edition from Amazon, because the latest edition contains more tips and recipes:

Let me repeat…it’s NOT about eating less, it’s about eating right.

Focus on fresh, unprocessed foods as much as possible. Or, in other words- go for a simple, clean food diet rich in alkaline foods. Your body wants clean foods and nutrients. And your mind wants freedom and flexibility (within certain limits of course). Giving your body what it needs to thrive is an act of self-love!

#3 Focusing Too Much on What You Eat, While Forgetting about Other Factors…

Yea, this one is very often overlooked…

If it’s a “diet thing”, let’s talk about food, right?

And yes, while what we eat is important, it’s NOT only about what we eat. It’s also about what we drink, what we think and how we live.

Sometimes people tell me how healthy and alkaline they eat…but they still feel tired. The first question I ask them is “what about your hydration?”.

And it’s something most people forget about or overlook…

Or they drink too much caffeine or sugar drinks (definitely not alkaline).

One of the things that helped me on my journey (that’s why I am so passionate about it) is what I like to call ALKALINE HYDRATION.

Nope, it’s not some weird thing designed to magically raise your PH.

The alkaline lifestyle is not about raising your pH, your body regulates your pH for you. But…in order to do so and to pay you back with amazing energy and vitality, it needs optimal nutrition and hydration.

Alkaline smoothies, teas, and juices are an amazing tool to live a happy and balanced alkaline lifestyle…

To keep it simple – you want to focus on drinks that are naturally caffeine-free, lactose-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, nasty chemical-free (pretty much ALL free and the same time, lol) and HIGH in nutrients.

My books such as Alkaline Teas, Alkaline Drinks, or Alkaline Juicing can give you some ideas:)

+ More Mistakes to Avoid:

-Trying to be too perfect and super 100% alkaline…Well, 100% alkaline is very restrictive. It’s even more restrictive than a plant-based diet, because not all fruit is considered alkaline. There are many healthy, plant-based or vegan foods that are not fully alkaline. So to eat 100% alkaline all the time is not realistic…

Sometimes people tell me “I eat fully alkaline now”, but usually what they refer to is that they eat a vegan or a plant-based diet (which can be similar but it’s not the same).

The best thing you can do is to live a balanced alkaline lifestyle…make about 70-80% of your diet rich in alkaline foods. Leave some room for flexibility and personalization. You can be alkaline-vegan, alkaline plant-based, alkaline almost plant based, alkaline keto, alkaline paleo, alkaline Mediterranean (which is what I do now and I love it!).

Everyone is different. While alkaline foods are a great tool to enhance your diet, there are also many other factors to be considered.

So, listen to your body!

70-80% alkaline does it for most people…And, once or twice a year you can do an Alkaline Cleanse and go fully alkaline for a week or two (to detox).

-obsessing too much about pH…

Instead of obsessing too much about Alkalinity and all the pH stuff, focus on the GIST of the alkaline diet, foods, and lifestyle. It’s as simple as focusing on foods and drinks that are:

-naturally gluten-free

-rich in nutrients

-naturally sugar-free

-unprocessed

-naturally lactose-free

-naturally caffeine-free as much as possible.

There are no magic foods or recipes that can “fix” your pH.

But, a simple lifestyle change and going for unprocessed, nutritious foods will help your body not only regulate its pH almost effortlessly but also pay you back with energy and vibrant health.

It’s all about going to the ROOT of the problem.

Nope, not just repeating it as a parrot. I really mean it.

Focus on the bigger picture. Even if right now you’re not happy with your health and life, use it as a sign, and motivation to transform on a deeper level.

Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Hope this helps,

Until next time,

Marta
