Got off Track? No Time for Self-Care? This Will Help :)

If you feel like you are pressed for time, stressed…with no time for self-care you need to read this! Perhaps you felt like you got it all sorted out and you were motivated. You felt healthy and you were taking inspired action. But then…something happened. New job, new business, maybe a new house or something else. I can relate! And while it’s easy to find information on how to GET motivated, it’s harder to STAY motivated when things get tough. Especially when you are running out of time…But here’s some good news- you can always re-commit to self-care and there is a very specific process you can follow…

There is Nothing Wrong with Getting Off Track…

You can always choose to re-commit to your self-care practices and it doesn’t need to be anything fancy. The first step you need to take, to feel better in your body (and WITH your mind, where it all starts anyway) is:

Stop feeling guilty about falling off track or not following through.

The moment you start beating yourself up, it becomes a pattern. A negative pattern. I have been there many times. I wanted to be perfect and perfectly consistent with everything. From health to business. It led to stress and insecurity as well as constantly comparing myself to other people (especially online, where everything always seems so perfect, and everyone always has everything that you want to have, right?). That’s the Energy of LACK.

But now, I go for slightly imperfect consistency. Yes, I am still consistent with all the daily actions that I find crucial for my long-term success, in all areas of my life.

However, I no longer beat myself up because I didn’t do my daily meditation…And somehow, because of that approach, I am much more consistent (and less stressed).

It’s like combining systems/ structure with flexibility. Yes, there are things and activities that need to be done. But, what is your energy when you do them?

By allowing yourself some room for imperfection, you will suddenly find more time and energy to commit or re-commit to self-care.

2. Time is an illusion.

It’s not that you have or don’t have time.

Time just IS. That’s it.

I am not talking about some mindless affirmations “oh I have plenty of time” while your subconscious mind goes like “Yea, right, I don’t believe it anyway, and I will make you feel stressed and hopeless”.

I am talking about training your body, mind, and soul with little self-care rituals…

It’s one of the tricks I have learned from a very successful high-performance coach who is using this stuff to help many high-stress, high-level, high-pressure individuals (such as salespeople, executives etc).

But, it will also work for busy parents, students, and small biz owners.

You need to start small and gradually convince yourself you can do it, by taking those small actions. Your subconscious mind loves all those games and they will help you leave “the loop”.

Can you schedule a 2-minute meditation as you drink your morning tea?

What about taking a detox from scrolling on social media? Could that help you find an extra 30 minutes a day, to have a nice walk in a park and listen to an inspiring audiobook?

Find something simple and easy you can commit to, right here, right now. Not tomorrow and not when you get that promotion/move into a new house/ sell your car etc. NOW.

I’ll be open and transparent here! This month I have had lots of accounting/legal stuff to sort out and as I was reaching out to different experts I found myself a bit pressed for time.

The first thing that suffered, was my self-care. And it didn’t feel good. It took me less than 2 days to realize that I could not focus, concentrate and make good decisions. My body rebelled.

And it was a good thing because whenever I experience some negative effects of not putting myself first, it makes me more empathic and compassionate towards others. I can understand the pain and frustration and what it feels like to be stressed (and getting off track).

I had to be PROACTIVE, not reactive…

So, even though I was busy, I decided to double my self-care. I increased my meditation and reading time. And I made daily juicing- a non-negotiable, obligatory thing.

Because of that, I was able to get back on “self-care” track and reconnect with my higher self.

I was able to think clearly and stress less. Finally, I was able to find a great accountant who can help me. I was actually able to move forward and get some stuff sorted out.

Stress and worry is so time-consuming when you think of it…Imagine you drastically reduce your worry or negative thinking time. Imagine all that time and what you could do with it!

And yes, you can start small. Just think of one self-care activity you can commit to right here. Right now. Why would you waste your time reading this post without even intending to break the vicious cycle?

It can be as simple as mindfully drinking your tea and thinking about what you are grateful for…

get out of the “loop”..

3. Self-Care Success Translates to All Areas of Your Life…

You already know this and I am not here to insult your intelligence writing about something you already know.

I am here to help you with a simple action plan:

-it’s OK not to be OK- so be ready to acknowledge that some days will be a bit off.

-you can take an “unmotivated” inspired action – to be honest, I am not always super motivated…but I know how motivation works – it’s created in motion. For example, I have been procrastinating about writing a new book. And I even had anxiety attacks thinking about putting myself on the cover. So, I my goal for today was just to come up with a title and the contents…Tomorrow I will be going deeper. Oh, and I have already ordered the cover.

Step-by-step…today and tomorrow. Focus on the process!

re-connect with your Higher-self – your Higher self wants you to invest in your self-care as much as possible. It wants you to shine, be healthy, happy and successful (whatever that means to you). It’s there to help you and guide you. You just need to fuel it with mindful self-care.

So, be proactive and focus on what you have. Even if it’s only 5 minutes a day…

Small, mindful habits build your confidence, motivation, and discipline…step by step.

Even if right now, you feel “off-track” and stressed (I have been there many times), you can choose to break that vicious cycle, right here, right now. Just one simple action can send a mindful signal to your mind- yes, I can do it and I am doing it!

+ Now, with that being said, let’s have a look at some emails I have been getting from my Readers…

“I am interested in any help you can give relating to a healthy lifestyle and self-care also how to stop procrastinating about my business” by S.

MY ANSWER: To keep it simple, I would recommend you have a quick look at my blog, where I always share simple and actionable tips as well as recipes. Pick one thing that you find interesting. For example – daily smoothies. Or daily smoothies with a little bit of meditation.

By going for something simple and doing it consistently, or almost consistently, you will develop a stronger belief in yourself.

You will feel energized, motivated and empowered.

Then, you can use the same technique and work on your biz!

I would also recommend you ask yourself (it may take some time to get all the answers you need) what is holding you back.

Do you procrastinate because of fear? Is it fear of failure or fear of success?

One of the reasons I enjoy meditation (aside from feeling more relaxed) is that I very often receive downloads from my higher self as well as many realizations as for what is holding me back.

Don’t judge your answers. They just ARE. And they are there to help you on your unique journey!

Another reader, S.P (I keep my readers’ info and names private) asked:

Oh, I think more than anything I need to be working on self-care right now. I have put my needs on the back burner for a long time. Just needing a bit of direction. I would love to try some meditation, just seem to run out of time.
Thank you.

My answer- Dear SP. I can totally relate to your situation.

Life very often puts me there as well. It is what it is.

But, the good news is that now I am aware of what is happening (as described in this post). And, your email tells me you already have an awareness and want to take meaningful and inspired action.

I am very excited to be sharing some awesome tools with you S.P!

  1. If you have time, you can re-read this post as well as the Mindfulness section of this blog where I share very similar, actionable ideas and tips.
  2. Use this affirmation “I honor my self-care”. It’s simple and it sends a very important signal to your subconscious mind.
  3. Ask yourself if there is something you can do today. What about 2-minute meditation? Your higher self loves it when you take massive inspired action. Even if it’s only 2 minutes, you will feel ACTIVATED and empowered. You will say NO to feeling stuck.
  4. Whenever you catch any negative thoughts like “I don’t have the time”, don’t judge them. be OK with them. Instead, choose to think: “Oh but I have 2 minutes and I am so grateful”.

I am sure the above steps will help you transform your energy. Your energy will transform your mindset. Your mindset will lead you to new, healthy and much more empowered actions.

Sending you lots of LOVE from here,

Xxx

Marta
