Mini Lush Product Review

It seems almost like criteria that at some point, every blogger must do a post on Lush products! I’m all aboard the stereotype train as I adore Lush and have been buying their products for years.

This mini review is going to feature a handful of products that I have in my cupboards, some of which are seasonal so may not be around when you read this! Let’s get going shall we?

Intergalactic Bath Bomb

I bought this mainly as I had seen so many positive reviews of it online myself! On first impressions, the design of this product is beautiful. The colours are vibrant and you can almost see how it is going to swirl and mix together when in the Bath. The main ingredients are peppermint oil, grapefruit oil and cedar wood oil, which all come together to create a fresh and sweet scent with a slight musky undertone. The smell helps to transport you to another realm as it is quite strong, and combined with the gorgeous galaxy in your tub, it’s really quite magical! As you put Intergalactic into the water, the whole experience really kicks off, as the popping candy instantly begins to explode and propel the scent (and a surprising amount of glitter) into both the bath and the room. Visually, this has got to be one of the best bath bombs Lush have ever created! I was left feeling silky smooth and nicely moisturised as well as very content with my purchase.

Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb

‘We all live in a Yellow Submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine…’. Let’s be honest: we all sang this in our heads as we picked out this little gem! Made from a combination of orange, coriander and lemongrass, this limited edition bath bomb offers a bright and shimmery bath, taking me back to sunnier days. The tropical scent is different to what I would normally choose, but it’s refreshing and uplifting. As you place Yellow Submarine into the tub, it froths a little. It is not a dramatic bath bomb that lets off all kinds of bells and whistles, but is quite content just to fizz away and leave a nice frothy yellow bath for you to enjoy. At first, I did wonder whether the yellow colour would be off-putting and a tad too vibrant, but it calms to a sort of honey tone, which is a lot more visually appealing. Yellow Submarine was a nice, calm bathing experience which left me feeling relaxed. I would say it is not as oily and moisturising as other products, but it still does a wonderful job.

Snow Fairy Jelly Bomb

Now, I didn’t actually realise when I purchased this product that it was not an ordinary bath bomb. This is a jelly bomb. Jelly bombs look and work exactly the same as the regular Lush bath bombs, but the jelly bombs produce a foam-like-jelly that floats on the surface of the water. To say I was a little apprehensive after hearing this is an understatement! The idea of relaxing in what I assumed would be a thick substance was just not appealing, but I was pleasantly surprised! I would even go as far to say that this felt more moisturising and kind to my skin than a regular bath bomb. Snow Fairy smells very sweet, almost like bubblegum or candy floss, but this isn’t too over-powering once it has dissolved.

The Snowman Bubbleroon

Now isn’t this guy just the cutest?! With main ingredients of lemon oil and shea butter, this zesty scented bubble bar not only livens up your bath time, but really softens and cleanses your skin too! When I picked up this little guy in store, I was expecting a similar scent to the butterbear bath bomb, but The Snowman smells much fresher and the lemon is really invigorating. Having said that, it is not a powerful smell, it’s quite delicate. As you may have noticed, The Snowman is slightly different to your normal bubblebar. He has a little shea butter sandwich in his middle which makes him extra nourishing and moisturising. Despite being on the small side, I reckon you could get three baths out of him if you really tried.

Wash Behind Your Ears Shower Gel

This is a product that I have had stored up for quite some time. I received it as a gift from my boyfriend along with Wash That Man Right Out Of Your Hair (which is incredible by the way, my current favourite Lush shower gel!) and have been saving it until I have finished other products. This was a limited edition product for Easter, so sadly is not currently available, but I really hope they bring it back next year! Wash Behind Your Ears has more of a floral scent tan I was expecting, but it is not over-powering. The bright zesty orange colour comes from the base ingredient, carrot. Carrot is known for having amazing healing properties and is able to reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks and blemishes and add a natural radiance to the skin. When in the shower, this product foams up beautifully. It’s a bit of a thicker consistency to other shower gels from Lush that I have used, but I like it as it feels it is really getting deep into your skin and moisturing well. The scent stays well on the skin afterwards, without being too powerful.

Overall, I am thrilled with all the products in this mini haul and would happily buy them all again (and probably will). Lush continues to surprise me and I cannot wait for the next time I treat myself to some of their goodies!
