When the time Comes

Well folks, here we go again. No time to post, too much fun to be had. Here's the Lazy man's recap:

Monday- annual physical, no biggy

Wednesday- note from Doc on web portal: please set up a follow-up appointment

Thursday- Call from Doc's nurse: Your follow-up is set for next week. Can we change that to tomorrow?

Friday early AM- Um, Doc doesn't wanna wait until 11:20, can she give you a quick call?

"Hey, so your blood work had some unusual results and I want you to go see a specialist. Today. Immediately. His office will cal you in minutes. It's a good thing we found this, are you sure you have no odd symptoms? (nope) Very strange. Keep me posted. (yeah, OK. I guess?)"

"Hello Mr Howard, this is the Oncologists office. Can you be here by 11AM (this was at 10:20)? (uh, OK) Good, and come right in. Skip reception this time." Yeah, that was re-assuring.

Anyway, cut to the chase: Likely on Tuesday morning we pack up and head for Buffalo. It appears I have some form of Acute Leukemia but we won't know WHAT form until the biopsy results are in Tuesday. Head spinning, heart stopping, brain damaged situation that only God could have planned this way. All the Docs are shocked that this was found before any symptoms appeared, apparently that never happens. Early enough in the process that it may lead to a better resolution. Bottom line, I'm likely to be Institutionalized (Hopitalated) for weeks to months whilst they destroy most of my bone marrow, then allow it to regenerate. And more biopsies. There's a wild story on that, maybe later it will be told. I may be so busy that you don't hear from me again until Fall or I may be so bored that you hear from me constantly just for sanity sake. Good luck!

The weekend has been spent notifying everyone from A to Z and all in between. Except for folk we don't like, including most of my fambly. Preparing, packing, planning, freaking.

So much more to tell, but time is up. Relax and enjoy the read, much much more to come. Eventually, in my own lazy time. And somebody pass the Jameson, eh?
