The former Oasis member Noel Gallagher got married at a Lyndhurst Hotel. It has come to light that it has been named as one of the best in the UK. Lime Wood Hotel has been named in Taylors of Harrogate’s top 50 boutique hotels coming in at an impressive nineteenth place as per Hampshire Live.

The boutique country house is located in the heart of the New Forest National Park where the Oasis guitarist reportedly paid £60,000 to have exclusive use of the 33-room hotel for his wedding. The venue saw Noel marry his publicist partner Sara MacDonald in 2011 with Russell Brand as his best man.

The year before, model Sophie Dahl also married singer Jamie Cullum there. It’s no surprise however that the location is favoured by celebrities as the five star hotel is surrounded by meadows, grasslands and wonderful wildlife.

The hotel was inaugurated in 2009 by the Lime Wood group, the establishment prides itself on “laidback luxury”. The house was designed by architects Charles Morris and Ben Pentreath and interiors were added over the years by designer David Collins and more recently Martin Brudnizki, Rob Angell and Susie Atkinson.

There are a number of luxurious rooms to choose from ‘generous’ to ‘cosy’ featuring king size beds, complimentary Wi-Fi, satellite TV, fluffy bathrobes and slippers and much more. Some of the ‘Forest Suites’ are actually built over two floors with some having lounges and dining tables.

All rooms overlook the forest with cottages and cabins provides an extra rustic feel. The ‘Lake Cabin’ is perfect for romantics as it is nestled at the end of a long pathway at the side of the lake. The large triple-aspect picture windows ensure the guests feel immersed in the environment complete a full-width balcony over the water with your very own outside bathtub. ‘The Pavillions’ also immerses the guests in nature with luxury doors that open out into the forest.

No luxury hotel is complete without a spa however which is particularly opulent at Lime Wood Hotel. Herb House Spa is inspired by its forest surroundings and is designed over three levels.

The facility has a massive sauna and indoor Hydro Pool with stunning views, a Mud House, a steaming outdoor hot pool, eight spacious single treatment rooms and two magnificent double treatment rooms.

At the top is a state-of-the-art rooftop gym with the very latest Technogym equipment and a 16 metre ozone treated indoor lap pool with glass doors overlooking the garden. There is also a workout studio that offers an extensive range of fitness classes and a Hands and Feet room for manicures and pedicures.

The spa also offers its Raw & Cured range which is a Mediterranean-style menu that it says is focussed on “fresh fruit and vegetables, gut-loving fibre, nuts and seeds with muscle-repairing proteins.” It is open for indoor lunch bookings, outdoor terrace bookings or ‘on the go’ takeaways.

The location is available for a number of events including weddings, events, fly fishing and its even where Smoked & Uncut festival happens every year.
