Prodigy Of Mobb Deep To Publish Cookbook And New Memoir

Rapper Prodigy, one half of seminal rap group Mobb Deep, has announced today the release of two books in 2016, a Cookbook and a new memoir to followup his successful and controversial, My Infamous Life

The cookbook, titled Commissary Kitchen, is part cookbook, part anecdotal storybook, featuring Prodigy's Prison experience through his meals. Some of the recipes will be classic prison offerings, while others will serve as the catalyst for greater stories throughout his three years prison term. His followup memoir, the State vs Albert “Prodigy” Johnson, will chronicle the overall prison experience, the challenges of life after prison and the effects that the Prison Term has had on his personal life and career. The book will bea deeper dive into the prison industrial complex as Prodigy has become an advocate for convict rights, having recently led a lecture at MIT surrounding the controversial topic. Prodigy and Iandoli will also dissect the dichotomy of what happens when a public figure enters and exits the prison system.

The two books are slated for release in the second half of 2016. Both books will be co-authored by writer, author and cultural critic Kathy Iandoli. Iandoli is a former editor at both AllHipHop.com and HipHopDX.com. She has since gone on to write for publications including Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Maxim, Billboard, Village Voice, Cosmo and many others.
