Limited to 200 examples, off which the final 59 will be presented in Sterling Green and Lime exterior paint scheme to celebrate the company’s victory at the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Aston Martin DBR1. Aston Martin has just introduced a limited edition Vantage AMR that will be fitted with a 7-speed manual gearbox to row the 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 that produces 503bhp / 625Nm engine to a maximum speed of 195mph (313kph). Due to the manual transmission, the Vantage AMR is also 95kg lighter than its automatic transmission counterpart. The manual will be assisted by a user-switchable AMSHIFT system that takes in account the clutch, gear position and prop shaft sensors to mimic heel-and-toe downshifts with automatic throttle blips. Deliveries being last quarter 2019, but for those who miss the first production run, there’s still hope as Aston Martin will continue to offer the Vantage with manual gearbox through 2020.
