Six months down. Whoa!

We’re already Halfway through June, which means we’re halfway through 2016. However, the title of this post refers to more than just that: This week marks six months since I started my journey as a WORX intern! I’ve expressed in previous posts how grateful I am for this experience, for all I’ve learned, for the wonderful WORXers I get to spend every day with… so I thought for this post I’d do something a little bit different.

A List of 6 Things I’ve Learned During My First 6 Months at WORX:

1. Slack is a life-saver

Okay, I’m being melodramatic. But it is a time saver! I have been saying for a while now that I miss AIM (’90s kid 4ever), and Slack is a pretty great alternative to Ye Olde AOL. But, in all seriousness, Slack makes communication a billion times more efficient. And, also, gifs. Which leads me to…

2. Careful what you giphy

Nothing is funnier than a giphy fail… so long as you aren’t the one sending the ridiculous, inappropriate, or otherwise awful gif.

3. Everyone is worth celebrating

Partially because everyone here is amazingly talented. Partially because if you’re celebrating their birthday, you get ice cream cake.

4. Regardless of how tired you are, make sure the mug is under the coffee machine before you start brewing it…

I’m not saying that I’ve caused a Coffee flood or that Melissa helped me to clean it up, but I’m also not denying that it happened. Whoops! :x

5. Exercise caution when there’s a camera around

Or prepare to have the dumb things you do or silly faces you make saved for the annual company Christmas video.

6. Company culture is everything

Seriously. Whether it’s Friday lunches, Happy Hour, team meetings, or wandering around the office to say hi, it makes all the difference in the world to really adore the people you work with.
