One of the prominent carmakers, Hyundai is on the verge of launching a new compact SUV named Exter. It is slated for launch on 10th July and will be positioned between Grand i10 Nios and Venue in the portfolio. The new Exter boasts a black interior with the dashboard layout from Grand i10 Nios. The cabin features semi-leatherette upholstery and unique green accents on the AC vents. Moreover, the SUV gets tech features like a multifunctional steering wheel with tilt adjustment, an 8-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, etc.

This engine is BS6 phase-2 compliant and churns out 82hp of power and 114nm of torque output. However, in CNG mode, this engine produces 68hp of power and 95nm of torque output. This engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a convenient AMT transmission. The carmaker will offer the CNG version of the Exter as well.

Hyundai will offer the Exter in 7 different variants namely the EX, EX(o), S, S(o), SX, SX (o) and SX (o) connect. In terms of colour options, the new Exter will boast a variety of colours to choose from. It will be available in 6 monotone colours including Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Starry Night, and Titan Grey. However, the carmaker will also offer 3 dual-tone colours Atlas Black with Abyss Black roof, Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black roof, and Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black roof.

Pricing, Competition, and the Conclusion

The Hyundai will retail the Exter in an expected price range of Rs. 6 Lakhs to 11 Lakhs Ex-showroom. After the launch, the Hyundai Exter face competition from Maruti Fronx, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.

The Exter is a small sub-4 metre crossover from a Korean manufacturer.
