Hyundai Exter to Get More Than 26 Standard Safety Features

One of the leading players, Hyundai is gearing up to launch its other compact SUV, the Exter, in India. Recently, Hyundai has revealed the design and started the official bookings of their upcoming Exter. Now, the carmaker has unveiled the list of safety features in the upcoming Exter.

Safety features in upcoming Hyundai Exter

The upcoming Hyundai Exter will be based on the K1 platform sharing its underpinnings with Grand i10 Nios and Aura. Hyundai has designed the Exter to provide unmatched safety to its users. The Exter’s standard safety package features 6-Airbags, a seatbelt alert for all seats, Burglar Alarm, Rear Parking Sensors, ESS, etc.

In terms of braking and traction, the Hyundai Exter will get ABS with EBD as standard across all the variants. However, the advanced safety feature consists of the Headlamp Escort function, Auto Headlamps, ISOFIX, Rear Parking Camera, etc. Meanwhile, the higher variants of Exter will get first in segment features such as TPMS and Dashcam with dual camera. Moreover, the Exter will also get the ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and HAC (Hill Assist Control).

About Hyundai Exter

The Hyundai Exter gets a slew of design elements from its elder sibling, the Venue. The features a parametric grille, projector headlights, and H-shaped DRLs. In addition, the Exter gets distinctive lines on the hood, 15-inch alloy wheels Exter and skid plates. The Exter will get certain modern features like a large infotainment screen, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, etc.

Hyundai will provide the Exter with 2 engine variants. The 1.2L Kappa series VTVT petrol engine produces 82 hp and .115 Nm of output. This engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual .transmission or a convenient AMT transmission. The carmaker will offer the CNG .version of the Exter as well.

Pricing and the Competition

Hyundai will offer the Exter in 5 different variants namely the E, S, SX, SX (o) and SX (o) connect. The Hyundai Exter is expected to be priced between the range of Rs. 6 Lakhs to 11 Lakhs Ex-showrooms. When launched, the Hyundai Exter face competition from Maruti Ignis, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
