A Perfect Stay At The Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

AD|PR visit

A Perfect Stay At the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire: We visited the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire many years ago and were excited to return to this glorious hotel. Set in 500 acres of stunning grounds, the 18th-century manorhouse is just an hour’s drive from London—the perfect countryside escape.

Dark skies and chilly temperatures accompanied us on our trip in March. However, the dramatic skyline made the red brick hotel stand out against a dark and moody backdrop as a welcome retreat.

Dressed in country estate style, complete with forest green gilet, the valet relieved us of our car, and we escaped the rain, heading to the warm and homely entrance and check-in in with the welcoming Elise.

With the Library bar to your left and the Drawing Room to your right, there’s a tempting option either: a signature cocktail in the bar or a delicious afternoon tea in the drawing room, complete with roaring fire?! We took a peek at our suite and took the beautiful wooden staircase up to the first floor. There are so many pretty details here, from the plush floral detailed carpets to the real spring flower displays creating a wonderful aroma.

We stayed in the Manor Room, with its aquamarine walls and luscious, inviting bed. The room overlooks the rolling parkland, and it was just so inviting, with welcome popcorn and Coca-Cola for our daughter and champagne and cake for me as it was my birthday – there is truly nothing quite like a Four Seasons hotel…

The spacious bathroom was stunning, with a standalone claw-foot bath, walk-in shower and Floris toiletries, with another excellent view. It would be a beautiful place to get ready for a wedding.

The spa at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

Off to the spa through the orangery and past beautiful floral displays, casting their fragrance around and throwing a touch of spring into the air, despite the grey and dreary weather! Grand pianos and lime trees added to the ambience, and we made our way to the pool, which leads outside to hot tubs, perfect for enjoying a wintery day in the warm water or the summer sun in better weather. A gorgeous place for a couples getaway, it’s such a romantic place, set in the rolling countryside – where you can genuinely turn your phone off and forget the busyness of life.

With a magnificent pool with loungers, magazines and lemon water, you could spend all day at the spa. The Four Seasons staff are second to none, attentive but not overbearing, with interesting stories to tell. The events manager we spoke to had worked in seven Four Seasons locations, and the chef used to work at a Four Seasons in Baku, Azerbaijan! The staff are what makes the experience – their passion shines through.

Dining at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

Dinner at the Wild Carrot offered a taste of Hampshire, with seasonal, local produce creating a stunning menu. Artisan concoctions at the bar to begin with, made of more local ingredients (and what a stunning bar it was!) before we were welcomed by Dominique, who looked after us so well.

We enjoyed starters of Scottish salmon tartare and beetroot and goat’s cheese before our mains of grilled tiger prawns and an epic rib-eye steak. Our sommelier had worked in the Four Seasons hotel in Bali and was so friendly and knowledgeable, and we also met the head chef and general manager – we loved hearing more staff stories! Dessert was a delicious chocolate fondant, and we then relaxed and took in the ambience. It had such a lovely atmosphere.
