Samsung has just added a new member to its Galaxy J series in India. The all-new smartphone will sit at the bottom of the current J series lineup. It’s none other than the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018). The budget smartphone made its international debut last year in December. It will be available for sale in India starting April 27.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) comes with modest specifications. It comes in a matte finished polycarbonate shell and misses out on any exquisite materials like metal or glass. The device features a characteristic rectangular Samsung home button on the front, flanked by two capacitive touch keys. It comes in three colors namely; Black, Gold, and Pink.

Upfront, the all-new Galaxy J2 (2018) features a 5-inch qHD Super AMOLED display. The budget phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. Additionally, the device features 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Samsung has also provided a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) come with an 8MP rear camera that’s backed by a dual LED flash. The front, on the other hand, features a 5MP selfie shooter. Incidentally, this camera too is equipped with a flash. Apart from that, the device packs a mediocre 2,600 mAh battery. It comes with dual SIM slots with support for 4G VoLTE.

Reliance Jio is in fact, offering customers an instant cashback of Rs 2,750 as discounts vouchers in MyJio account, which are redeemable for recharging with Rs 198 and Rs 299. Moreover, Galaxy J2 users are entitled to get extra 10GB 4G data on every next 10 recharges. The Korean multinational is also bundling its Samsung Mall app along with the new smartphone. The app which initially debuted with the Samsung Galaxy On7, allows a user to shop products online by clicking a picture of any desired product.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) is priced at Rs 8,190, which is slightly higher than the current retail price of the last generation Galaxy J2. It will be available starting tomorrow through both online and offline retail channels.
