A distant gaze, a saddened sigh.

A quivering lip, It was hard to deny.

Postpartum effects include Hair fall,

While I stroked my hair, a hundred fell off.

“Why is your hair falling?” She questioned.

“Im dying soon,” I replied.

“Why mummy why?” her trembling lips whispered,

To which my husband said, “we will get another.”

“No, I want mummy.” was her quick reply.

“Beta, I’m joking” I said, “I’m right here, by your side.”

I pulled her close, embraced her tight.

Put her doubt to rest, wiped her tears dry.

Silent but strong, her emotions so powerful.

How do I overcome the magnitude of this situation. ?

I may die tonight or pass away when I sleep.

The moment after that. Its hard to concieve.

The uncertainty of life, is a truth untold,

How to contain her tender heart so full of love?

The mother is irreplaceable, yes, I know.

Scolding and yelling, a pinch or slap,

Kissing her forehead, smiling at bedtime.

A package of big Human she cannot part.

Such love, such attachment, it feels surreal.

So I beg,

“O Allah! delay my death, let her gather all I have. Who will embrace her in the darkest hour,

when she sees me lifeless after my last human hour.”

This single event, unleashed such sentiments,

The power of motherhood is beyond what i can comprehend.
