Mirrors throughout the ages….

Tags: mirror

Over the years, throughout the world many stories and fairy tales have been written that feature Mirrors, Through the Looking-Glass, by Lewis Carroll, Dracula, by Bram Stoker, The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde and “Snow White”, by the Brothers Grimm are just some examples.

Whether your a child or adult, there is something almost magical about mirrors.  This simple object can hold our gaze for so long, they also allow us to see ourselves as others see us.  They can help build or break our confidence and are always there to greet us every morning.  Imagining a world without mirrors, seems such a gloomy thought.

All the magic and mesmerising aside, mirrors are both practical and useful.  From the hall mirror through to the well placed living mirror  to ascending the stairs to the full length dressing mirror or the ever needed bathroom mirror.     All of them have a role in our homes to help improve our environment whether it is to enlarge small rooms, lift dark areas back into the light or help correct that misaligned tie or hair style.   Yet many of us still use mirrors in a purely non functional way and is it any wonder we do when we have this fascination with mirrors as they are a constant reminder of the many stories that been told to us from a young age about mirrors.

Mirrors are truly magical and influence, the way we dress, the style of hair and even our moods.
