Mint chutney

Ingredients

  • Washed and chopped fresh Mint leaves - 1 bunch
  • Onion chopped - 1(small)
  • Garlic cloves, crushed - 3-4
  • Ginger, sliced - 1 small piece
  • Chopped green chillies - 2
  • Red chillies - 2
  • Coconut shredded(optional) - 1tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2-3tsp
  • Cumin seeds or powder - 1tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1tsp
  • Channa dal - 1tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  • Hing - A pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1tsp
Method
  1. In a pan add oil and add mustard seeds, urad dal,chenna dal,coriander seeds, cumin seeds,red chillies,hing and onions
  2. Let them fry for 2 minutes
  3. Then add mint leaves and cook for another minute.
  4. Let it cool for some time
  5. Blend to a smooth paste using a little water, green chillies and adding the coconut if required.
  6. Add  salt and lemon juice to the above paste.
  7. Yummy mint chutney is ready to be served with idlis or dosas
