Beauty Therapy or Beauty of Therapy

After having a discussion about self Confidence and how it affects everything we do I was thinking about how many people try to change their looks and image in the hope that it will boost their confidence and make them feel better about themselves and does it really work? Does a makeover really change how you feel about yourself? It seems a good thing short term and I don’t know what the long term affects of a short term makeover would have but if the lack of self confidence is still present then how much money do you have to keep spending to have that short term boost? Would Therapy of some kind such as CBT not be more beneficial to try and help change the way you think about yourself and maybe help with any insecurities that dominate how you see yourself and how you think others see you?

It’s male and female alike that have the issues and I don’t know anyone that is actually happy with their body or looks but we all assume that we aren’t good enough in some shape or form, however if Beauty Therapy works for you and gives you the lift you need then that’s great but if not maybe a longer term solution might help you mentally and save you a few quid in the process. I personally have massive insecurities about how i look, i started losing my hair at 24 years old so i had to shave it off, it made me look like a thug but there was nothing i could do about it. In the past before i went bald i used to get my hair cut in different styles, it gave me a buzz knowing that i changed part of my appearance, it made me feel better having a different image, unfortunately now i can’t do that and no matter how much i feel like changing how i look i can’t, fair enough i can change how i dress but i still look the same, it just goes to show you how much a hairstyle can change your appearance! Like i said before though i don’t know anyone that is actually happy about how they look and that’s why i thought if it’s such an issue and it continues to affect your self confidence then would a therapy such as CBT not be an option? Just a thought.
