Understanding Type A Personality

Tags: personality

Being overly ambitious can kill you. But as any person with a Type A Personality will tell you, that’s a risk they are willing to take. As humans, we all have certain features that make us unique as people. Yet there are many aspects of our personality that are similar to those around us. These similar personality factors are called Personality Traits and according to studies, they indicate certain personality traits that can make us more vulnerable to stress. Over the last 50 years, Type A and Type B have been used to describe two very contrasting personality types. Type A individuals are described as ambitious, rigidly organized, highly status-conscious, sensitive, impatient, anxious, proactive, and concerned with time management. On the other side of the spectrum, Type B individuals are described as living at a lower stress level and working steadily, enjoying achievement but not becoming stressed when they do not achieve the task they are given. However, they tend to be more creative and more likely to enjoy exploring new ideas and concepts than Type A. If you are still unsure if you are Type A or Type B after finishing this article, it might suggest that you are found the balance between the two. But if you’re like the vast majority of people, you will notice that you fit neatly into one type than the other.
