1. Use The Staircase Especially After Lunch

Variation: Take a flight of 3-4 steps at a time, it will stretch your legs and exercise your knees.

2. Stretch Raise and Squat

You can easily stretch while sitting and should always do whenever you stand for any reason. Office floors are usually clean and squatting once or twice won’t make your clothes dirty.

Variations: Rotate your arms while stretching. Increase the time whenever you squat.

Benefit: These will burn a few calories and strengthen your leg and calf muscles.

3. Carry your files and Walk (even for no reason)

Walking with some weight will not only shed some extra calories, it will whet up your appetite and make you feel fresher as blood circulation will rejuvenate all your body.

Variation: If files are not heavy, try to squat once or twice. Raise your hands with files and it will double the benefits.

4. Stay Fit While You Sit

Some of these exercises you might be doing unknowingly. If so, read now and know what benefits you were getting till date.

  1. While sitting on a chair, stretch your legs as far as possible. Rotate your ankle clockwise and then anticlockwise. Repeat.
  2. Raise your legs so that they are parallel to your hips. If possible, take the legs apart and bring back to original position.
  3. Close your eyes and allow your head to drop in front. Now slowly take it backwards and then roll it around. Repeat 3-4 times.
  4. Use the chair’s arms to rest your arms. Hold tightly and move your hip sideways, first left then right. (Believe us, your body will thank you for these intelligent steps)

Variation: Mix and match the above exercises.

Benefit: These are great for relaxation and also stress buster.

5. Jumping Jack Relieves the Back

Remove your shoes and start jumping. Don’t worry; within a few jumps your back will get relieved. Jumping also increases the blood flow and rejuvenates you further.

Exercises shown here should not take much time. Also they would not need extra effort. But you stand to gain especially if you keep at it and follow them daily.
