Is the Femilift Vaginal Laser Treatment Right for Me?

Is the Femilift Treatment Right for Me?

Femilift is a rejuvenation treatment for the vagina that offers a positive impact in the lives of many women. Femilift results are impressive and can be achieved in a short amount of time however you must make sure that you are a good candidate for this procedure, and that there are no contraindications before you proceed with the treatment.

What is the Femilift Procedure?

The Femilift procedure involves using its high precision based CO2 laser, applying thermal energy to the mucousa in the vagina and revitalizing it. Although there are other energy modalities such as radiofrequency used for Vaginal treatments, CO2 laser is considered the gold standard treatment for regeneration and rejuvenation of the vaginal wall tissue.

The procedure is very minimally invasive and usually takes only 10-15 minutes. This procedure begins with inserting a 360 degree total rotation probe into the vagina, to deliver the CO2 laser with equal distribution throughout the vaginal wall. The results start within days and continue improving for 6 weeks. You don’t require any type of anesthesia as this treatment is practically painless.

Femilift is used in improving feminine health issues such as vaginal wall laxity, vaginal dryness, and a diminished level of sensation, all of which are normal problems that are often caused by menopause, aging, childbirth, and hormone changes.

Ideal Candidates for Femilift:

  • Post-menopausal women who suffer with vaginal dryness
  • Women with stress urinary incontinence
  • Women treated for cancer that caused pre-mature menopause
  • Post-partum patients with vaginal laxity and possible urinary incontinence due to child birth
  • Women who are not able to receive estrogen therapy due to estrogen sensitive cancers
  • Patients with recurrent vaginal infections

Can I Get This Procedure Done at any Age?

Women are not always the same, either young or older women can suffer from vaginal problems. The efficacy of vaginal rejuvenation from Femilift depends on the patients ability to regenerate tissue. Although this ability diminishes with age, the majority of women of all ages benefit from the regenerative effects of Femilift. In a younger patient the common reasons to benefit from Femilift are post-partum changes of vaginal laxity, or recurrent vaginal infections.

The patient’s age is not a determining factor when considering vaginal concerns and problems. These problems can happen to women of varying ages.

What is Your Specific Situation?

If you are a young woman and have just given birth and you are experiencing vaginal problems you may qualify for a Femilift procedure. Also, if you are a woman experiencing menopause that affects your sexual intimacy at a stage later in your life you may also qualify for a procedure of Femilift. This procedure could also benefit any women that suffer from intermittent or regular urinary incontinence. Additionally the Femilift procedure restores vaginal elasticity and lubrication very effectively.

Why Would I not be able to Qualify for Femilift?

There are multiple reasons why you may not be able to qualify for the Femilift procedure. If you have one of the conditions that are listed below and decide to still have the procedure done you may have results that are adverse or not as effective for you. Ask your doctor if you are a candidate for a Femilift procedure.

Considerations for Getting Femilift

  • If you have diabetes that is uncontrolled you may be at risk of delayed healing after Femilift. See your doctor to get your diabetes condition under control prior to considering the Femilift procedure.
  • If you have in the past experienced a complete pelvic organ prolapse, the Femilift procedure cannot help this condition and you likely need surgical treatment.
  • If you have Lupus you could also experience photosensitivity making you less tolerant of laser treatments. If you take medication which causes photosensitivity you may not be a candidate for Femilift. Ask your doctor for guidance.
  • If you have a sling or transvaginal mesh, or have undergone a procedure for urinary incontinence or pelvic prolapse you should ask your doctor whether Femilift could compromise the implant in your body.
  • If you are possibly at risk for either cancer or for any other diseases then most likely your doctor will choose to help you get through other treatments before Femilift.
  • If you are breastfeeding or pregnant you should avoid Femilift. Your doctor will give you advice to carry out the pregnancy to term and wait several weeks to heal your body first.
  • If you experience having a collagen disease then Femilift is not for you. This procedure’s laser stimulates and promotes the production of collagen.
  • If you experience active herpes, viral infections, or HPV you should seek treatment first for those.
  • If you experience active infection, bleeding or vaginal discharge you may want to get treated for any of those infections first. Also you should wait for a menstrual cycle to be over before getting Femilift.
  • If you have in the past undergone anticoagulant therapy, this may mean that you are not a candidate for Femilift.
  • If you are being treated with steroids this can decrease the immune response your body has, and cause delayed healing.

You should also make sure you are able to follow the post care instructions for Femilift. This includes not having any sexual intercourse and not use a tampon for three days. If you cannot commit to the requirements you could have a less effective treatment for Femilift and it could also be followed by adverse effects.
