Mumbai: A part of a three-story residential building Collapsed in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai on Sunday morning. Two people have died in this accident. At the same time, five trapped people have been evacuated and sent to the hospital for treatment. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said two people injured in the accident were pronounced dead by medics. On the other hand, the condition of other injured people is stable. Mumbai Fire Brigade and Mumbai Police are present at the scene.
It has been raining heavily in Mumbai and its suburbs since Saturday, the official said. A part of the building at Chittaranjan Nagar in the Rajawadi colony in suburban Ghatkopar collapsed at around 9:30 am, the official said. Firefighters, Police and Civic Corps personnel had traveled to the scene after receiving information about the incident.

About the accident, Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha told ANI news agency that a part of a building collapsed in Ghatkopar. Four people have been safely rescued and two people remain trapped inside, rescue operations are underway.
Two people died from heavy rain.
Earlier on Saturday, two people were killed when a drain was washed away by heavy rain in various parts of Mumbai. He said that due to heavy rains, incidents of traffic jams, falling trees and short circuits have been reported in many places.
