Popular leakster Evan Blass has now tweeted out the latest leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Earlier rumors claimed that Samsung Galaxy S9 will not include the under display fingerprint scanner and also will come with 3.5 mm audio jack.
As per Evan Blass, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus now got a model number as SM-G960 and SM-G965 and both devices are part of Project Star codename.Blass also mentioned that the upcoming devices will be tock year than the tick year of earlier launched Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.Which means that there will be a major upgrade over the older generation devices.A tick means minor changes like the design changes whereas tock means an upgrade in terms of hardware of the device.So we can expect Samsung Galaxy S9 duo will have Samsung Galaxy S8 like the design.
So we can expect Samsung Galaxy S9 to have some powerful hardware. We can expect Samsung Galaxy S9 to come with Dual camera setup which we saw on Samsung Galaxy Note 8, we can even expect it might come with an optical fingerprint scanner or they might even ditch the 3.5 mm audio jack.At last Evan also mentioned more to come so we have to wait for few more weeks for some more details.
Apart from this we also got new renders which show the Samsung Galaxy S9 attached to the case.The new renders were leaked by popular case manufacturer Ghostek based on the information leaked from Samsung component Supply chain.
From the leaked renders we can see the Samsung Galaxy S9 from all angles.Now the Samsung Galaxy S9 is having thinner top bezels above the display which has selfie camera, earpiece, and sensors.As per BGR, the rear of the device is an accurate representation of the final product.
At the back, we have the Dual camera setup which is aligned vertically with Dual tone Dual LED flash and heart rate monitor below the camera and the fingerprint scanner is now moved to a new position below the LED flash and heart rate monitor. Sadly there will be no under display fingerprint tech this time too.The shape of the fingerprint scanner is similar to Samsung Galaxy Note 8 fingerprint scanner and the only change is that it is placed horizontally with this finally Samsung making the device for single-handed usage.
At the front, we have the bezel-less Infinity display and will have same screen size with 5.8 inches.There will be dedicated Bixby key what we saw on all other Samsung flagship devices this year.At the bottom of the device, we have the USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm audio jack.Ghostek had earlier leaked some of the details of Note 8 which were accurate enough but we can't expect the renders could be true it might be fake too. So it is too early to comment on that.Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ not earlier than March 2018.
